Missionary eating habits?

I've never noticed the table manners of Mormon missionaries to be any less refined than those of other nineteen to twenty-one year old boys. They do tend to eat a lot, but they're still growing. They're hungry. Plus, I'm a good cook.

I think I did okay as I did not know how to use my knife and fork European style so I fixated on it when I first ate.

Is that where you hold the fork upside down in your left hand and use your knife in your right?

Yeah, luckily we had mashed potatos with most meals so you use that to stick the veggies to the fork. If you don't....they never get to the mouth.
