Could be. I'll try to watch it again when HBO reruns it. And I'll try to be sober this time.

Let me know what your sober mind observes - I've already deleted it off my DVR. Rhonda sure is an opportunistic little thing, isn't she?

I liked VM also. I got used to Enrico Colantoni as Veronica's dad on that show, then when I re-watched "Galaxy Quest" recently, I had to chuckle because I had forgotten he was one of the aliens.

Majorino's switched-at-birth episode was one of my favorites on "Mars." (She was a cute little girl in Meg Ryan's "When a Man Loves a Woman.")

Incidentally, I see that Seyfried and Gallner are working together again in the upcoming movie "Jennifer's Body."

"B23"]Episode 3.1

And...we're back. Seems like only 18 months ago that we were watching intently for glimpses of polygamist nudity, and now we once again we are free to squint for evidence of bo....I mean God's work. So let's get right back to it.

I was only able to watch the first two episodes. Don't have HBO anymore.
:(

5)Alby is gay. Well duh.

Yeah, I have only watched some episodes from Season 1 and knew Alby was gay back then. No surprise.

8)Which leads to weirdest moment in the shows' history as Barb and Margene think it's because everyone knows they're polygamists when in reality Teeny is selling looks at porn to nieghborhood kids. Whoo! Dodged a bullet there didn't you Hendricksons? Wait a second...Teeny is the neighborhood smut peddler? WTF? Wow...last season we said she didn't have any plot arcs, but damn I did not see that one coming. LOL. Well at least she didn't out the family as polygamists....

I thought that was very weird and a little shocking. I was hoping all the fuss was over their "inactivity" in the church, which in Utah could cause some people to not let their kids play with yours.

10)Bill slept with Anna...well he didn't sleep but he unbuttoned his shirt so apparently he did something, and now says he's dumping her...I doubt it.

Anna......What were they thinking??? She is so unattractive and that voice makes me dislike her even more. They needed to have Bill going for a young hot Margene type to make the other wives jealous. And the wives all gleeful about Bill dating her and then group dating was so lame.

My biggest complaint about this show is that it doesn't take a serious or realistic approach to the emotional pain polygamy would be like for most women and the religious indoctrination driving them to choose that lifestyle. They've tried to create a balanced family with wives of very different backgrounds and beliefs to show that there are many different reasons women might choose this "alternative lifestyle" but that's not the norm, if it even exists. Even the dark FLDS story lines feel like Melrose Place.

It's humorous and fun to watch LDS culture and history interweaved into the show but I prefer to see more serious drama with this sensitive topic. Not sure if I will bother to rent all the episodes I missed from Season 1 & 2. It hasn't grabbed me yet.

I love the updates though. Keep them up! :) It's fun to see what Mormon history and doctrine gets put into the story lines. The casino Lamanite scene was a great moment.

Episode 3.4

1/3 through the season. The trial is here. And it wasn't much of a trial. Roman and his support staff (including Nicki who is set to pick up a Best Supporting Accomplice Oscar) operated behind the scenes with the savvy of a John Grisham criminal cabal and eventually was let off. That's the main plot line, Roman is free. That was sure anticlimactic. Now to the points as to how the trial devolved in a massive circle jerk of ineptitude:

1)Rhonda didn't testify because she was bought off. Thirty grand delivered by Nicki's mom (Nicki by the way used her role as double agent to find where Rhonda was being hid in protective custody). She left town with a trucker....and well that's going to be something else. I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up raped or something.

2)Kathy's testimony (Joey's wife) was discredited when her twin sister was called to testify and discredited Kathy's account that she was married at her young age [basically she said that she was married at 19 rather than 16, and they can't prove it because they don't have birth certificates so basically the case collapsed) Roman went free on that lack of evidence. Alby, who was originally going to testify against his father, ran for the hills, probably on the realization that it's hard to denounce a polygamist prophet while claiming to be a polygamist prophet, and Bill did not testify either. Because he's a puss. by the way we learn that Kathy's sister testified in order to get her son [who we can assume is being held hostage....isn't polygamy great?] back from some of the compound folks. Aside: Apparently on the compound they only celebrate Joseph Smith's birthday...Merry Smithmas!

3)Anyway, Roman goes free [to a course of “Holy, Holy, Holy”], and sees Nicki in the hallway....Nicki who has subverted a trial process, lied, stolen evidence, outed anonymous witnesses, bribed witnesses, and more to get a glorified pimp of children out of prison finally grew a backbone....and pushed her father down the stairs. That's right, Roman was pushed down the stairs by Nicki. Not that it matters, he popped right back up like a spring, safe in the reality that he is immortal, but also now knowing that Nicki hates him for being one of his child brides...not sure where that is going. Roman will probably win though, he's the most ruthless piece of cork I know. This guy is Teflon in human form. He is as slippery as a lubricated kielbasa, he is greased lightning. He is da man.

4)Anyway in other news, Anna is still around, but not much. Bill proposes to her, she is going to think about it. I wish the writers would think about using her for dramatic effect by having her die in a tragic gasoline fight accident.

5)Barb is having trouble with her mom, she wants her mom to create a trust fund for the older kids for when the Hendricksons go bankrupt in about three episodes. Apparently the whole Weber gaming thing means that their financial security is a shell until the casino gets going. Whatever.

6)Sara wants to give the little brat away [apparently abortion isn't an option though], so she finds a nice Mormon couple which turns out to be composed of an OCD woman and an SSA man. A lot of talk about Satan and stuff. Nice and weird...the whole scene is just a series of insanity with all the Mormon cultural cliches about gay men who are celibate and marry a woman in an attempt to be straight and develop heterosexual attractions and yada yada yada. A minor digression but fun. I'm sure Wade Englund is proud of that man...

7)Pause *Bond has to stop and watch a sweaty Margene dance * whoo...back to the show....Margene didn't do anything the whole episode other than dye her hair blond...holy crap Margene is a blond! If that that gay man mentioned above isn't feeling a stirring with the thought of blond Margene then nothing will “cure” him...

8)Lois didn't have the stones to kill Frank, now Frank is trying to kill Lois. I think Frank will succeed if he gets the chance. Consequently Lois is hiding at Bill's Compound. Is there anyone left on the compound?

9)Bill didn't do much this episode, except get owned by Roman over and over and over. Roman > Bill. Roman > Alby. Roman > Lemmy. Roman is Sovereign.

10) No nudity. Oh well...TV nudity is trumped by in real life Bondgirl affection.

That's about it. A lot of trial maneuvering in this episode that I didn't feel like detailing. The upshot was Roman getting released. Next week...Roman gets even.

Interesting..
Do these groups in real life avoid having birth certificates?
God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it.

Hey, wtf? Did you notice the mushrooms on Alby's desk, not 10 minutes into this episode. What is that all about?

It wouldn't surprise me. I mean these are closed compounds where illegal behavior is going on and where the births are most likely home deliveries, so why not? The less documentation the harder it would be for outside authorities to come in and make charges. I mean whose to tell if a girl is 16 or 18 without documentation? Helps create the benefit of a doubt which might prove useful later on...as shown in the episode.
