Excellent write up as usual. You should post these on your blog too; TV write ups can get some good traffic as people stop by for an update.

It wouldn't surprise me. I mean these are closed compounds where illegal behavior is going on and where the births are most likely home deliveries, so why not? The less documentation the harder it would be for outside authorities to come in and make charges. I mean whose to tell if a girl is 16 or 18 without documentation? Helps create the benefit of a doubt which might prove useful later on...as shown in the episode.

That's what I was thinking - imagine the control they could have over someone.. For that matter someone could be murdered and who is to say the person ever existed..
God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it.

Also would make it easy to run off the excess male children...

Thankx. Transferring those to my blog makes me realize that I really should go back and clean them up, they're way to stream of conscience, but I'm lazy so whatever.

I thought it was an okay episode - the Anna storyline is getting old. Margene's mom's death is also a non-starter for me - I'd like to see that one go away.

The prospective adoptive couple was pretty funny. Not the best way to go about making a good impression, eh?

I also liked Nicki telling Margene she looked like a whore with her hair blonde. She's blunt, that one.

One little thing I learned - the actress who plays Kathy Marquadt (and her twin sister) is LDS. Her dad met her mom in France when he was on his mission.
I may be going to hell in a bucket, babe / But at least I'm enjoying the ride.

The FLDS must be pretty murky in their record keeping, because in that Texas fiasco the officials had a hard time establishing motherhood. Some of the women would claim that an older sister-wife gave birth to a child rather than an underage one, thus avoiding clear evidence of underage sex.

Episode 3.5

Well this episode really wasn't what I was expecting. I figured this episode would be all about the fallout from Roman being released, but hardly a murmur on that end. Instead we get the marriage of Anna to the King, I mean Bill Paxton, and then we get the divorce of Anna from the King, I mean Bill Paxton. Color me totally unsurprised. To the points!

1) Roman did get a bit of a mention, as he took time from his busy schedule to blackmail Nicki and Alby. Nicki for helping get him out of prison [thanks Nic!] and Alby for being gay [Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Al!] Roman will be back in charge by the end of the season. Write it down and have it notarized.

2) Alby in response has turned the compound into a fascist police state [wait...wasn't it already?] which leads to all sorts of shenanigans when the kids [Sarah, Ben, and the gang] take one of the cars and go on a road trip to the compound. Yeah. When I load my pals up for a road trip it's somewhere....cool. These knuckleheads go to Campus Polygamius [I don't feel like getting it in the right Latin case...]. Whatever. At least Sarah's friend [not the Tina Majorino character, but the hot one who's liberal] finally mentions abortion...bout damn time. But Sarah wants to keep the kid, so good luck with that one.

Second Amendment) Frank makes an appearance as an old bastard who yet continues to buffalo everyone. Someone seriously needs to whip his ass. Just stomp him into the dirt. No jury in the world would convict. His character witnesses would be Satan and Hitler, both saying "he's not as big of a douche as I am!"

3) Weber gaming continues to clog up the storyline like a pound of cheese in my....well it continues to be a problem. This time they're having trouble getting a loan from a bank. Anyway it all sorts itself out when Bill gets out his copy of Quid Pro Quo 4 Dummies and blackmails his brother-in-law into not only getting the loan but also destroying the legislation that was threatening the casino.

4) In exchange Bill is trying to broker a deal between Alby and some guy [???] on a Mountain Meadows Massacre document. One million people will now google "Mountain Meadows Massacre", get a link to September Dawn, yawn, and go back to watching whatever youtube video they prefer to watch when they should be working.

5) Alright to the main storyline, which was Anna getting married to the gang. I actually enjoyed this episode because I think it shows the insanity of trying to force another wife into a marriage that already has two too many people. It all gets off on a bad foot when they have a crappy wedding [where's the glitzy wedding? Damn! Don't gals like, you know, like decent dresses and stuff?] in which Bill runs off immediately to a business deal [I hope he changed out of his Ice Cream suit first] leaving Barb to deal with the reality of easing Anna into the family. Needless to say...epic fail.

6) Anna didn't particularly like being forced to live with Nicki [wow...I was shocked.] Barb and Marg both wanted Anna to live with them, Barb wants a friend and Marg a nanny, and Bill put on his Solomonesque hat and did the only sensible thing...pissed them both off and Nicki by making Anna live with Nicki. Which led to all sorts of arguing and bitching and stuff.

7) Anna also didn't like that she was going to have to give all her money to "family pot" [I would too...welcome to the jungle, give us all your cash!] considering that she...ya know...worked for it. She also wanted a house. Gold digger? Perhaps.

8) In reality though it wasn't going to work. She took off the ring after a few days, as Bill just couldn't believe that it didn't work out. Wow...he needs a Maglite, cause he's in the dark. WTF do you expect Bill? It only works on the compound by coercion, and its only working in your house because you have:

8A) a barren first woman who things children equal happiness and has brainwashed herself that anything is acceptable as long as it grows the family.

8B) A brainwashed woman straight off the compound, who by the way is a very incomplete person with character flaws so numerous that to list them would wear out this keyboard. A constant problem in herself.

8C) A young girl who was looking for security, and who appears to be tugging at the reins a bit for independence. Problems on the horizon there as well.

9) Face it Bill, you got more than a full plate. You have jello hanging off the plate's edge sticking to your wrist, you have decaf soda spilling down the side of your cup, and the hot buttered rolls in your pocket are toasting your thigh hair. This whole thing is going to crumble, and the Anna thing has simply revealed the cracks in your kingdom.

Barb has admitted that she doesn't get enough from Nicki or Marg [she wanted Anna to feel normal], Nicki is a basket case who is flirting with the DA, Marg wants to be Miss Weber Gaming, Barb has family problems up the wazzu, and all of this is happening under the cloud of financial ruin and social ostracism.

Anna leaving is just what you need Bill. And you're blind to this reality because your carefully constructed paradigm of reality has been created out of the flawed premises that more children is right and that it'll all work out in the end because you're practicing the "Principle". Wake up Bill. You're an idealist living in a pragmatic world. No more wives.

10) No nudity either.
