"When you get your understanding of the mind and will of God from" such unenlightened men as Brigham and ole Joe the above statement is the sort of thing you can use to make an effective dismissal of such notions. And quite "stunningly" effective, that is in your own mind anyways.

Who are you talking about here? I get the mind and will of God (though not the whole thing obviously) from God himself, works better that way.

Appears I stand corrected. A completely infallible way to obtain true knowledge I am sure. That's exactly why all those the world over who claim to arrive at their knowledge from that precise method always are in complete agreement on all things pertaining to mind and will of God. It is an excellent choice of methodology on your part, much unlike those who seek that type of knowledge through a middle man (sometimes referred to as a Prophet). Kudos for you!

True, but if it assists some members in hanging on to thier testimonies then I doubt we'll see any great "official" effort to squash the notion for them.

I agree that the method is infallible. The only fault in the line is that the recipient might fail to understand and/or distort the message due to their own flaws. Much like someone can be certain they are correct regarding something due to faulty reasoning spiritual the same can happen for spiritual things in those who have faulty spirits.
However, luckily God has also offered to let us let him fix the faulty spirit too so that while messages are first distorted and difficult to work with in time they become clearer until the day you pierce the veil and see everything.

Is that when you will discover that ole Joe was completely full Curelom dung?
#2 Since when did the Mormon God take a poll and ask for consensus & permission from the unchosen? Never. Unless you count being forced to pull the practice of Mormon adultery.
This is good point. How could the priesthood have been withheld for cultural issues when polygamy was introduced during the same period and it certainly was a cultural shocker!

Now see? That's why I will listen to you, when I don't listen to anyone else. You just make sense!
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.
