Yeah, we did indeed laugh. And my companion probably still believes it's "history".

On my mission, we would keep the local library supplied with copies of the Book of Mormon in good condition as EV's were always checking them out and returning them defaced or not at all.

Those evil EV's are always trying to hide or distort Mormon history just like the church.
I think it would be morally right to lie about your religion to edit the article favorably.
