Old Testament Comments from Anti-Mormon Challenge Scholarly Request Thread

Does anybody here have any idea what "L-Skinny" is?

I'm on a small private list called "Skinny-L." That's really close, but it's not, I think, the same thing.

Somehow, I get the feeling that "Skinny-L" is what they are referring to.

Use your deductive powers, Dan. It's you they're obsessed with...so whatever list you are privy to is most certainly what is being referred to here.

I would love to share just what list I'm on, however, it won't get through the censor intact.

ROTFLMAO! I think we're on the same list, Jersey Girl!

Good night, all!

Oh, I understand that. Believe me.

The funny thing is, neither Mister Scratch nor Gadianton Scratch is on Skinny-L.

That must simply drive them nuts. And so they fantasize about it, and pretend they know more about it than they do, and obsess about it, and speculate baselessly about it, and spin paranoid nightmares about it, and post about it, and wax righteously indignant about it.

Weird.

(Of course, while I have no doubt that Mister Scratch is in dead earnest about his fantasies, I'm still not convinced that Gadianton Scratch is. He may well be joking. His Trojan horse references, for example -- he just made another one -- may be super-subtle digs at Mister Scratch. But then again, maybe not. He's kept a straight face for an awfully long time.)

I was going to suggest inviting them to join the list, but I honestly think that would ruin their fun.

That idea occurred to me, too.

It would certainly deflate their paranoid conspiracy fantasies.

But it's a fun little list, and I can't think of anything more unutterably dreary than having Scratch and his sidekick on it with their interminable nonsense.

I get the impression, actually, that neither of them take themselves too seriously, and they see their apologist-gossip as more a fun and amusing hobby than the righteous crusade that is sometimes attributed to them. But you're right that Gad comes across as much more tongue-in-cheek than the one true Scratch™.

Even more so a career choice such as yours ..
God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it.
