I have to agree with time. And taking good care of yourself, regardless of what caused it. Don't beat yourself up, allow only so much time per day to grieve on it, and stay around folks who care about you.

Wild Cherry Slurpee.

In all my life, I have never seen someone drinking a Wild Cherry Slurpee that looked upset. There's evidently something magical about them.

Or…

Write… a lot. Get a notebook with the intention of burning it later. Write every feeling, memory, emotion, etc. that you want to let go of. Nothing is too trivial, and nothing is too dumb (after all, no one will be reading it). Then, once you are sure you’ve gotten everything out of your mind and heart and onto paper, have yourself a nice little burning ceremony. Don’t toss the whole notebook in the flames at once; instead just go page by page, letting it burn slowly -- slowly letting it go. It sounds hokey, but this little method has helped me put many demons at bay. It might not work for you, but what do you have to lose by giving it a go(?)

Hang in there, keep a stiff upper lip, and don’t get any on ya.

One better. Wild Cherry mixed with Coke. More Coke than Wild Cherry...

That's my drink too.

A box of See's chocolates and a trip to the movie theater always makes me feel better.

Time really does heal the pain. Moving away helps speed the healing too. Do something adventurous to take your mind off it.

Nothing like a good musical number to cheer you up. I recommend this one. (Starts at 1:58. Sorry for the out-of-sync sound and wrong aspect ratio. The scene right after the credits has a funny Coolio cameo too. )

I'm sorry to hear this. I wish there was something I could write to lessen the sting of it. Hang in there buddy.

"All my exes live in Texas, that's why I live in Tennesee..."

Another remedy for bad breakups is moving on in happiness. The ex before last saw me with my fiancee several months ago. I was visibly pregnant. You could see on his face how much he regretted all the excuses he made. Oh, if only he could see my son! Last ex had an apoplectic fit when I told him I was engaged and pregnant.

As far as the coke-cherry slurpee, Steve usually gets those for me when he's been bad and needs to do penance. Works for me!
