Has marg ever read the Book of Mormon?

marg has never read the Book of Mormon. Yet, she was the "expert" on "what Mormons believe". Or, so she said on FAIR, where she also admitted to only reading "online stuff" about Mormonism, all of it from anti-Mormon sites.

That the Book of Mormon is "foundational scripture" has little if anything to do with your charge that marg not having read it is in no position to comment on "what Mormon's believe". Likewise your assertion that marg shouldn't be commenting on Mormon related boards unless she has read apologetic books, etc.

This isn't altogether bad, from a certain point of view: Ignorance makes dogmatism easier to maintain.

But your apparent point is beside the point. Marg pontificates on the Book of Mormon itself. Yet she hadn't even read it a few years ago, and my bet is that she still hasn't.

I don't think much of people who pontificate without reading it on the Qur’an, or "Hamlet," or The Origin of Species, or The Bridges of Madison County, either.

You're believing "everything in it" has nothing to do with Ray's charge to marg, Daniel. He's saying that in context of this topic (which was derailed pages ago) that unless she's read the Book of Mormon, that she has no business commenting on "what Mormon's believe" regarding positions on homosexuality.

Not that Mormon's believe everything in the Book of Mormon.

Additionally, he's stated that unless marg has read apologetic books, etc, that she shouldn't be commenting on Mormon related boards.

And likewise neither you nor marg should be commenting on my posts on the Spalding thread. You have not read the Book of Mormon, yet how many years have you been commenting on Mormon-related boards without knowing squat about the Book of Mormon, nor having ever read it?

So don't get on your high horse like marg while both of you act the hypocrite, having not read Vanick. That marg can quote a footnote doesn't mean she's read it, any more than I have.

And I'm quite sure I've forgotten more of the content of the Book of Mormon than you'll ever remember. But the question begs: How can you "remember" something you've never read?

And you've never read it, have you, now?

As for your comment to Dan:

She has no business on commenting on anything to do with the Book of Mormon unless she's read it.

I'm only applying the standard which SHE set for me in regard to Spalding. If I should not comment on Spalding, then she should shut her trap and stop claiming to be knowledgeable on Mormonism, which she did on FAIR. After only reading "online anti-Mormon" material.

Stop making baseless assertions and claims. As I recall, you asked if I had read the Book of Mormon. Then you asserted that I had not read the Book of Mormon yet had been commenting on Mormon related boards. Now you're asking me if I've read the Book of Mormon cover to cover.

Pick a bloody spot and land on it and stop moving the goal posts.
