Mister Scratch wrote:I admire Dr. Robbers's Christ-like humility here, and his willingness to go forth with a contrite spirit.

Gadianton Scratch having, some time back, praised Mister Scratch for his Christlike sanctity and blameless walk before the children of men, Mister Scratch returns the compliment. It's a Scratchist liturgy known as "reciprocal hagiography," and (as here) it usually takes the form of an alternate-response litany.

Mister Scratch wrote:Also, I have to extend major congratulations to him for getting his paper accepted for the upcoming conference.

So do I.

Since, to the best of my knowledge, no papers have yet been accepted for the conference, I'm really quite dazzled.

Mister Scratch wrote:I can tell you that it will be a real doozy. Those who hear it will no doubt be very impressed. The congratulations will make the congratulations of the Yale conference seem staid and calm by comparison

It will be a watershed moment in the history of Mopologetics.

Better yet: try to imagine a tenured BYU professor blatantly and brazenly plagiarizing a quote from the film Ghostbusters

Not a very smart move, Dr. P.

Dang. And the secret assumption behind my sordid scheme was that, surely, nobody would ever recognize my fiendishly shameless plagiarism!

You really are a humorless loon, Scratch.

It's transparently obvious that your sense of humor is Flintstonian and quaint. Did your mommy and daddy forbid you from watching the naughty, raunchy stuff like Milton Berle, or Saturday Night Live?

I have a sure conviction that Mormonism is bull**** and I think Dr. Peterson is extremely foolish for defending such a transparent fraud. However, if your above criticism is serious then I have to conclude that someone blew your pilot light out.*

*FYI, that's another brazen plagiarism.

I take it that your paper has been accepted?

Let's just say I will be presenting. I'm not going to say more than that, my answer is the same as it was quite some time ago when I told you the same thing.

by the way, another evasion. The questions you avoided answering from myself, Tom, and Mister Scratch, on two different threads, had nothing to do with personal things about your life, but rather your evaluation of writings or arguments put forth by various apologists. The questions posed to you were uncontroversial even by apologetic standards, and fair.

EA,

Now that you bring it up, I do remember. I'm becoming more unimpressed by the hour with his apologist output.

Indeed it is.

Incidentally, I'm fascinated to learn that, although there has been no announcement yet of which paper proposals have been accepted and which rejected, and although the meeting program is still to be made up, you know you'll be presenting. That's really interesting.

Ok. Well, I guess I'll probably see you there. Maybe we'll both be presenting, I'm sure you have a good shot. That would be fun I think.

I'll be there, most likely.

But, along with those of my fellow ordinary mortals, my presentation proposal hasn't yet been accepted yet. I don't know of anybody else whose participation in the conference has been guaranteed and assured before the selection committee has even completed its reading of paper proposals. You must be a demigod of some sort.
