Well, if given the opportunity to meet either W or Hussein Obama I would decline the offer. Very few politicians are men of substance.

My dad's comment after meeting W was that his mother, Barbara Bush, had raised him well (i.e., he was a classy guy). It was a fairly short conversation, so your probable response that that's what politicians do - appear to be charming, may have some validity.

In regards to President W I've always felt the office was too big for him. I view him as an average "guy" who loves Jesus, loves his wife, loves his country, and there isn't anything wrong with that. However, the office of the President requires the best our country has to offer instead of an average guy. Ideally, I would love to see a self-made man, who cherishes this country, but is also sophisticated and just worldly enough to be empathetic to the world rather than used by it.

As far as President Hussein goes, it's a far cry from being handled and groomed for the office, and being the kind of man that earns it. He has shown himself to be sorely lacking in fundamental areas as a leader.

At least he can read a telepromter well...

You may be right. The job of President is definitely too big for BHO given the centralized control perspective he is pushing. As various Austrian school economists have pointed out, socialism requires capitalism to help it with prices.

If the responses had been switched, you guys would be on here complaining about the politicization of the armed forces.

There isn't a gaping difference between the proportion of servicemen who voted for Bush in '04 and the proportion who voted for Obama in '08 -- it's about the same percentage difference by which Obama won swing states like Michigan and New Mexico. Stop being stupid for just two seconds, please.

I think your voting notions are a little off, to say the least.

McCain, R-Ariz., handily defeated Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., 68 percent to 23 percent in a voluntary survey of 4,293 active-duty, National Guard and reserve subscribers and former subscribers to Army Times, Navy Times, Marine Corps Times and Air Force Times.

About 69 percent of respondents said they voted for Bush in 2004, while about 16 percent voted for the Democratic nominee, Sen. John Kerry.

I think a 69 to 23 ratio is pretty damned gaping. You may want to hold off on calling others stupid when you're either not wording your thoughts correctly, or you just don't know what you're talking about.

Wow, did you really just point to a poll of self-selected servicemen? Not to mention that there's good reason to believe that the group of servicemen who subscribe to Army Times, etc. is not representative of the entire population of servicemen. Haven't you ever taken statistics?

According to the National Election Pool, 54% of veterans voted for John McCain. Obama won 57% of New Mexico voters, and about as many Michigan voters. I stand by my earlier post.
