The Good Stuff: Spring Break & Girl Scout Cookies (Update)

Spring Break is here!

Annie had a slumber party Friday night for her Kindergarten friends. Talk about a lot of work for me! Whew. It was fun, but I'm glad it's over.

Madeline is having her Spring Break slumber party tonight. The girls should be here within the hour.

Courtney's party is tomorrow night, and Chloe's is Tuesday.

My long ago promise that the girls could all have slumber parties over Spring Break is coming back to bite me on the butt.

Thursday we're off to Branson for a few days. Yes, we need a little banjo. A little Silver Dollar City. We love the one room schoolhouse and Fire in the Hole. :)

Also, can I just say that I LOVE Girl Scout cookies? I love them! My neighbor bought a dozen boxes from his granddaughter and brought them to my girls last week. Mmmmm! Samoas. So good. The best Girl Scout cookie, hands down.

Anyone else have grand plans for Spring Break?

And surely no one disagrees that Samoas are the best Girl Scout cookie ever.

I'm surprised your neighbor didn't keep them for him/herself. If I have Girl Scout cookies, there's no way I'm giving them away.

Did you know that Girl Scout cookies are assigned different names from the bakery they're made at? Each year right after sales (I mean the DAY after), bakeries begin placing bids for the next years "batch".

Samoa's for example, are also called Caramel deLites.

More than 50% (closer to 80% depending on the breakdown) of the operating budget for GSUSA comes from the sales of Girl Scout Cookies.

The very first Girl Scout cookies were made by the girls themselves.

As for spring break, it doens't happen for another 2 weeks around here. I plan to prune my roses that weekend, but other than that, I don't really get a spring break. I had to clean and fix up my house for the appraisal, so that's already done.

I did buy GS cookies this year. However, I'm beginning to think that we should no longer because of the leftist shift in the GS leadership.
