Banned from MADB

Post by _The Dude »

Yesterday I mentioned that I saw a 3 minute Big Love video on YouTube. No link. No discussion of temple content. I only said I saw it on YouTube and I didn't find it disrespectful. End of post.

I got banned.

Sheesh, I didn't know YouTube was a big sacred secret over there.

f*** it

There were five other references to the clip on YouTube by four other posters on that thread, and not one of them was banned. But I suppose that none of them are apostates who can reasonably refute various apologetic arguments, they get to stay.

Discussion of the show will be permitted, but posting links or advertising links to anything that depicts temple content or discussion of specifics will not be permitted.

This was their announcement, so I guess mentioning the youtube clip could be viewed as "advertising links", but if others mentioned it as well and weren't banned........

Everybody with a brain knows about YouTube. I didn't advertise a link. There was no pinned announcement until 30-60 minutes after I posted.

The banning was completely gratuitous.

Smac97 started a thread about SL Tribune publishing pics of temple clothes.

Oh, but that's different because it's Spencer MacDonald.

I feel left out. All of the cool kids have been banned. What's the point in soldiering on?

You must keep trudging onward, John! There are so few good critics remaining on MADB.

And yeah, Dude, your banning was completely unfair.

The video clips are no longer present on any sites that I know about. They would need to be posted on a server in a country where HBO has no clout. Probably won't be seen again till Fox Media buys the reruns.

Dude,

I watched that clip from youtube also, since we don't have Big Love on at the moment in the UK..(Much too interested in Battlestar Gallactica and trying to work out whether Gaius is supposed to be Joseph Smith), I have to say that I found it respectful and quite beautiful actually.

I found the excommunication scene to be more problematic, but again they based it on a few known comments that general authorities have made in the past...

Are you permanently banned, or will they unban you. It gets boring over there with no-one to give a different viewpoint..
