Whatever copyright originally existed for the temple ceremony itself has long since expired--ironically, the temple ceremony is in public domain. However, the HBO rendition of it is protected by copyright. In other words, it isn't the Mormons who are keeping it off of youtube, it is HBO. If you want to see it you can by subscribing to HBO, watching it on pay-per-view, or buying the DVD.

Dude's banning are never permanent. They're more like cooling off periods for the mods, then he's welcomed back. Permanent looks a lot different from what happens to The Dude.

Last time I was blocked from posting for about nine months, but I could still log into my account and send PMs. So finally I PM'ed all the mods, and Hermes (only) responded and said he/she would look into it. On Christmas 2008 I was granted a very special gift by the MAD mods and allowed to return with full posting privileges. Cinepro got the same thing.
Since then I have been warned countless times for little things. I was suspended once for joking about how someone's link didn't work. It's such a bunch of capricious madness over there, always has been, but now it's worse because the overall substance of the board is very low. What they're after is quite beyond me.
This time it actually says I am banned and I can't log in, let alone send a PM to the mods protesting their capricious ways. So, I think it's a plain old permanent banning, and Schmo is right that I'm better off. Once you see the inevitable on the horizon, it's best to get it done with.

for what it's worth, I always thought you were one of the few voices of reason over there, and you had an amazing ability of not letting the idiots get to you. There's not a lot of substance over there anymore, unless you count Zakuska's constant cutting and pasting from Wikipedia.
