milk before meat or milk and cookies

I was reading an article where they were writing about GA's thoughts of milk before meat and the writer said it's really milk for a life time for LDS people. You never get to topics that might concern you. I then thought about being told about being saved for the last days, being on the winning side of the war in heaven, alot of stuff like that. Too me that's not just milk but it's also cookies. I think the milk before meat saying is just a saying and they never get there but in reality they serve milk and cookies for life.

I think the "milk before meat" mantra is just a rationalization for deception, nothing more.

I doubt any LDS apologists would accept such an excuse for not disclosing significant/important/vital information when it came to another organization, cult, or company.

Can you imagine supporting a used car salesman who wouldn't disclose the history of a vehicle until after you purchased it? Or an investment broker who wasn't upfront with your money? Or a realtor who didn't tell you a home was built on a polluted waste dump until you signed the contract?

As I have said many a time... it seems odd that a God's one and only true church would have to lie and/or deceive to get members to believe in "truth".

The meat of the gospel should be the atonement, not polygamy doctrine, pre existence racism, becoming Gods, genocide, etc....
The church misuses this metaphor to cover up disturbing history and doctrines.

The milk represents the commandments. The meat is best described by the story of the Prodigal son. We are all sinners, and God's love is not conditional. I've seen "Christians" who expect and desire a permanent hell for certain sinners and do not have the pure love of Christ toward their fellowman. The thought of someone who has lived a sinful life & can still obtain the same reward as someone who lived a faithful life is very troubling for most people, as the Prodigal son depicts. People expect to be rewarded and receive a higher glory for good behavior over those who were not as faithful.
They do not understand the atonement. If someone repents and forgives all (even Hitler), they will be with God again. That is the meat. If I recall correctly, Brigham Young struggled with that (all are saved) more than any doctrine before he joined the church.

yea - I always thought about what would happen if you were a new real estate agent and those who supervise you said to sell this one house but there is no reason to go into the basement of the house.
