Here is the real irony. Confucius* said that the foolish man built his house upon the sand, and the wise man built his house upon a rock

I thought Jesus said that.. ?
God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it.

It’s relatively easy to agree that only Homo sapiens can speak about things that don’t really exist, and believe six impossible things before breakfast. You could never convince a monkey to give you a banana by promising him limitless bananas after death in monkey heaven.

Doup!
Matthew 7

24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a dwise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that ahouse; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

If an LDS apologist says confucious said that, who are we to question them? Scienctists don't know everything and are making knew discoveries all the time. We can rest assured that they will eventually discover that Confucious said that thing about glass houses. In the meantime, we just need to have faith.
"We have taken up arms in defense of our liberty, our property, our wives, and our children; we are determined to preserve them, or die."

You got me! Thanks!

The thread that started all this is still going on. Now Dr. Peterson is claiming that we over here are denying Hamblin's right to have a sense of humor and to be witty. Well, in what almost appears to be an admission that he screwed up, he said that Confucius did say it, because he had a high school friend named Confucius that did. And then he smogged out a long line of smileys (as he often does when he is intentionally making a joke). Well, the joke kind of bombed. But, it was in fact recognizable as an attempt at humor. So no, I, at least, don't deny Hamblin his right to make jokes. But I will most certainly point out when a "Zelph humor" apologetic is offered to his defense.
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.

LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

Maybe Hamblin should have used real jokes from Confucius rather than just one liners that are meant to be serious.

A couple of my favorite real Confucius jokes that fit the Hamblin situation are:

Confucious says, a man with hole in pocket feel a little cocky.

and

Confucius says, a man who passes gas in church, sits in his own pew.

Cocky little Hamblin is sitting in his own pew.
I think it would be morally right to lie about your religion to edit the article favorably.
