I guess maybe the original idea of a larger group is that it is more likely to be impartial? Less chance that a bad stake president could railroad someone he didn't like? Still, though, the details are unnecessary. Seems like saying what was done and how many times would be sufficient, and then a chance to say how you feel about what you did. Done. Why more?

Maybe it is for impartiality. I'm not sure. There's just got to be a better way to do it.
