Well EA, I wasn't sure how or if I should respond here. I've always kind of thought of you as a (cyber) son, mainly because I guess I too feel like we're most often on the same page on things and you're younger than I am.

I've always suspected E.A. was female, are you sure he/she is a he and is younger than you? Actually I wouldn't believe whatever you had to say. E.A. doesn't sound younger than you by the way but certainly I got the impression E.A. looked up to you, as a role model on M.B's.

I've always suspected E.A. was female,

So? Most things you suspect, online at least, are off by about 180 degrees.

are you sure he/she is a he and is younger than you?

Well, I'm not going to check, but I am as sure EA is male and is younger than I am as I am sure of anything I feel one can be sure of online.

Actually I wouldn't believe whatever you had to say.

Well, Marg, you go right on ahead an not believe me. That will certainly teach me a lesson.

E.A. doesn't sound younger than you by the way

Well yeah, I mean, there are reasons why I am very proud of EA. EA also doesn't sound younger than Wade Englund.

but certainly I got the impression E.A. looked up to you, as a role model on M.B's.

Everyone has their faults. Hey, at least he doesn't look up to JAK.
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.

LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

So essentially you don't know.

Actually I wouldn't believe whatever you had to say.

I'm not trying to teach you a lesson. I appreciate to some extent the games you like to play on others. Ever since 2 think which I now appreciate was you, and your gameplaying there where you posted as an extremely religious individual in order to get things going on the board, and rile up a few posters I know what you say one has to be highly skeptical of.

E.A. doesn't sound younger than you by the way

Well yeah, I mean, there are reasons why I am very proud of EA. EA also doesn't sound younger than Wade Englund.

Not to be cruel or anything sorry if this may come out this way, but I do respect E.A based on their posts. They do show they are well read, knowledgeable about what they write about and are a fairly good critical thinker. I can't be so generous with you.

but certainly I got the impression E.A. looked up to you, as a role model on M.B's.

We all know your attitude towards JAK. You don't have the class he has, that's for sure.

Off the top of my head, Beastie, Cinepro and Uncle Dale are the three who spring most readily to mind. Although I enjoy many different things about different posters - some get me laughing, others get me thinking, and others remind me that Mormons are normal/smart/funny people too and keep me from slipping into a stereotyped "dangerous other" mentality (a serious risk on other more polarised boards).

So Dr Shades has to be right up there as well for creating an environment where all these people can be heard and appreciated.

I am loath to pick anyone out since there are so many that I have felt an affinity with at one time or another.

But, if you twist my arm I would have to go with The Dude. (He is getting a lot of freaking votes! LOL)
Oddly, sometimes, I think I identify more with The Dude's online persona than with how I imagine "Tarski" comes across --if that makes sense. Maybe it is the excellent choice of avatar.
I will have to give a shout out to the band of skeptics including Sethbag, JSMill, John Larsen, EA, Gadianton (mostly as Sidewinder-I agree with the comments), Schmo etc.
I just thought of more ..... starting a list was a fools errand. I can't complete it.
Actually, the age thing is interesting. Around here, I feel like such a senior citizen (read "old fart") but then I don't really know the ages of everyone.

I just realized that if asked I could give a quick word association or impression for a lot of posters:

Bond - funny
Jason Bourne - reasonable
Dartagnan -exasperating but likable
Droopy-alternate universe level political wacko but good taste in music
Asbestosman- intelligent, calm, always gets the point.
and so on
when believers want to give their claims more weight, they dress these claims up in scientific terms. When believers want to belittle atheism or secular humanism, they call it a "religion". -Beastie

TD for the peace and kindness she countenances. The presence of some people just makes you want to be a better person. Thanks for being here, TD.

KA and Danna: I just like their perspective on life

Cinepro, Runtu.. level headed and thoughtful, disarming, calls it the way they see it in a gracious way.

RayA: Actually cause I somehow developed an empathy and love for these really mean people while spending a few years being summarily rejected by nearly all of them. Ray's an Australianly warm and deliberate guy with a good heart (That's a compliment, Ray).

Mercury and Porter: Because I can connect with their rough edges and the effects of their deep sense of betrayal.

I connect with most of you at least in small ways. Particularly you decent chapel Mormons, I feel your pain, man. Even if you don't yet (are there any chapel Mormons here? anyone? hmmph. I guess not).

Myself: particularly when I am the only one that is thoughtfully provoked by my own posts.

by the way, thanks ktalamigo.

Thank you, Inc. We have, as you know, many mutual interests that go beyond Mormonism.

Your personal intergity is something I admire.

I loved that expression, Inc. Sometimes, in the process of composing posts, we sort things out for ourselves or set ourselves off on a journey of further exploration.

Is that what you were thinking?
