Will and other Mormons appear to have free reign on MAD, making sneering attacks on non-Mormon posters without so much as a warning. It's appalling.

Chris Smith has made such a valiant effort on that thread. I'm impressed by his intelligence and demeanor. Chris is young, but he possesses a wit and a temperance that Will and other Book of Abraham apologists haven't developed in all their long years. Kudos to him!

That's what's most disappointing. The tenor of the board is set by all the posters, not just the critics.

It's almost the apologetic equivalent of Commodus (Joaquin Pheonix) in the last scene in "Gladiator", where they invite their "enemies" to a fair, public debate, and then try to rig the debate so they can't lose.

Interestingly, my banning wasn't for anything I said relating to the gospel or Church, or even for being cynical or sarcastic. It was for a perceived slight against apologists! If apologists are to be a protected class, I wonder what that will mean for Will's long-term prospects (or anyone who adopts a more orthodox or contrarian view towards apologetic subjects).

Ironically, the MA&D board could evolve into the kind of board that wouldn't have forced FAIR to jettison it in the first place.
