Time for a new week! Based on talent, these are my picks:

8. Allison
7. Lil
6. Matt
5. Anoop
4. Kris
3. Danny
2/1. Scott/Adam

Scotty didn't perform as well this week, but he still has an amazing voice, and I hope he isn't voted off. I also hope he goes back to the piano next week. Simon was right. That really is his comfort zone. I'm a sucker for man who can play the piano and sing. LOL Elton John and Billy Joel are my faves.

Anoop did much better with song choice this week, so I think he deserves to stay a little longer.

Lil has a beautiful voice, but she still has some control issues. I would like to see her get some training. The same for Allison. I'm kind of torn on this one, but I think that one of the ladies should go. I basically picked Allison, because vocally, I prefer Lil's voice a little more.

Again, my picks really aren't based on how I think the popularity contest should run, but on how I think they honestly performed vocally.

Adam was amazing. Again, he really showed his command of the voice.

The baby picture/birth year week is always my favorite. So cute!

I think it will be Scott or Anoop who go home. Anoop has a really good voice (by the way, how many times do we have to hear the judges say "you know what? you can sing!") but it was a second rate performance in comparison to Cyndi Lauper and Phil Collins. I think I had picked Anoop on the list already.

Scott was awful. Eeeek, that high note and guitar. Poor guy. He definitely needs to get behind the piano again. in my opinion, he is not in the same league as the others but I can see him as a Billy Joel type artist.

I love Danny’s voice but it was kind of a forgettable performance. He didn’t really change up the song much. It was good, but not great.
He’s kind of losing me now.

Matt did so much better than last week. I like to see him behind the piano though. (not the best dancer) The hat really fits his style.

For the first time, Kris's performance didn't work for me. The band swallowed him up.

Lil is not getting it. You would think after years of watching American Idol and the judges feedback each week, that she would understand that it takes originality to win this competition. Trying to impersonate another singer (especially the artist of the song you pick) is never going to win votes.

Allison was one of my favorites last night. She reminded me so much of Kelly Clarkson the first season of American Idol. The only thing I didn't like in her performance was the arrangement. It would have been cool to hear it unplugged with the guitar and some strings. She made the song better than Bonnie Raitt’s.
That's what these contestants need to do. Pick songs that they can not only make their own, but perform better than the original artist. I can see her making an album similar to the artist "Pink."

Adam. Wow, another amazing performance. Best of the night. The only weird distracting thing was the light shining between his legs on the chair in the beginning. The arrangement was beautiful!
I find myself counting down the days until I can see his next performance. He's already a star.

Lately it feels like Paula has some of her comments written by someone else and memorized ahead of time as she nervously delivers them. I know they preview the artists before they come out so it would enable them to have their critique ready to go.

I agree with your assessment Seven. I thought Scott was the worst of the evening, Adam hit another home run and Allison did a great job. I listened to some other artists doing Mad World on youtube and none were as good as Adam.

So I think Scott should be voted off, if not him then Lil.

*sigh*

I'm sad. I really didn't think that Scotty should have been voted off. I was really surprised that the judges didn't save him.

Oh, well....I still think he'll have a good career. He is a very talented musician. He got the exposure that he needed.

Well, Marg, it looks like your prediction won this week!

Seven as well called it.

Here's a link to Adam's performance, most youtube ones are down but there are some still up on blogs.

Well, the ladies and Anoop really need to step it up or they're gone.

My pick for top 4 is Adam, Danny, Kris, and Matt.

Farewell to Scott. Looks like I was too optimistic for both Megan (caw! caw!) and Scott. Honestly, I liked his performance, but I would never pay to see him perform.

For whom the bell tolls...it tolls for thee, Anoop and Matt!

It looks like American Idol has a new fan:

I really like Allison's singing, however the voters I think tend to be weighted with young females and tend to favor males, so she has that disadvantage, but she did really well last week the song "I can't make you love me"

Ok with this week, I think Lil has got to go. I found her singing to be flat. It's possible though she'll get the black vote but she should go, her singing was horrible.
