You know that I've a soft spot for you. I've liked you since I saw your posts on MAD and wrote about them here. We had the most hilarious conversation on chat the first day you came here. I still remember it.

My opinion is just that, an opinion, but I do sincerely believe it is in your own best interest to let this go. In your best interest. This board doesn't have a large readership and has far fewer posters than readers. I don't know anyone who believed what Dr. Peterson wrote about you. I didn't believe it and wouldn't believe it even if he never admitted it was a joke. Even if it were true and he posted it on the board, it would have reflected much more negatively on HIM than it did you. That's the truth.

Going through with a lawsuit will take an emotional and psychological toll on you far greater than any damages you may be awarded, even were you to win your suit. You are young and intelligent and there are things of far greater benefit to you that you could be doing with your time and energy than suing Dan Peterson. To me, it seems like a no-win for everyone involved.

Also, taking your focus from other projects may not be the best thing to do right now. You've got the ball rolling in other areas and a man can only focus on so many things at once. Believe me, I know. ;)

This board is no big deal in the scheme of things. Let it roll off your back. That's my suggestion. Go and be happy and productive and well and ignore the distractions.

Have you actually stopped to consider what you're really saying? I mean, remove the three or four believers who post here, and the board would consist of what? A half-dozen self-congratulating bozos with Dr. Shades to lead them.

In any case, this board is probably the single least-frequented LDS-related forum in cyberspace. Granted, it occasionally makes up in sheer psychotic majesty what it lacks in numbers and substance, but the thing was dying on the vine even before this latest episode.
