It's not offensive, Schmo. It creates a hostile environment and especially so when you consider that GoodK was on a rampage. Situations like that are destructive to a board. I've sent you a PM to explain the rest of my reasons.

So far as I can tell, the only person who revealed personal information was GoodK. He took it upon himself to disclose the personal information of others.
I remember once a long time ago, I happened to be online when someone was posting porn all over the board. Shades was here and I sent him links to try help him keep up with the deletes.
That's kind of what this was like, Schmo. There's no reason to allow someone to run out of control on a board to the point where it becomes a hostile situation and consumes admin time trying to keep it in check according to board rules.

I still think the original version was better, even though I often got my ass kicked. Something was lost. All of this talk of bannings and suspensions reminds too much of MAD. Reminds me too much of little- dictators-in-the-making.
The difference between here and MAD is that the threshold of bannable offenses is much higher here. I wouldn't propose banning anyone who hadn't done something at the level of seriously threatening litigation.
You're going to solve the DCP/GoodK problem by banning Eric? Shutting him up through Admin/moderator fiat?

I understand what people you were talking about, Schmo. The people whose information was posted (actually I think it was just crock's) did not disclose that information here on the board themselves. My opinion is that it's bad form, wrong headed and creates a hostile environment. A little back and forth, a little insult here and there, I have no problem with. Someone out to piss off everyone in sight, yeah, I have a problem with that.

Whether or not he recants isn't going to change the real-life situation. He could have said nothing and snuck up on DCP unawares. What would be the difference? The difference is that DCP would have had a lawsuit planted on him with no prior knowledge. It is through this board that he became aware of it. That's because of something called "free speech". Had he done this on MAD he would have been immediately banned.
I hope for a settlement, and I would not like to see either DCP or Eric "ruined". "The pen is mightier than the sword."
I propose that, if GoodK doesn't publicly renounce this lawsuit idiocy in 24 hours, the moderators boot him from the board. I don't think he should be able to ruin it for the rest of us.
