The only rational post on this subject has been Graham's observation, which I keep making, that GoodK is bluffing.

I have never posted anything personal about GoodK except what he has posted about himself and then in Scratchian fashion I needle the balloon of his pomposity. I never outed him to his father. (Trying once, it went to a non-email address and then I thought the better of it and that was the end of that)

Although I don't like his posting of details of my private life (Beastie did far worse and I didn't complain) and the constant private off line harrassment I get from him (I have deactivated my PM) you'll note I have not complained.


I relish the discussion although he isn't up to it, knowing nothing really.

The people whose information was posted (actually I think it was just crock's) did not disclose that information here on the board themselves.

Crock has revealed information about himself, that's his schtick. He's given his name, what he does for a living, all one need to is a people search to get the information Eric gave.

My opinion is that it's bad form, wrong headed and creates a hostile environment. A little back and forth, a little insult here and there, I have no problem with. Someone out to piss off everyone in sight, yeah, I have a problem with that.

It's also bad form to contact relatives of posters with the intend of squealing on the poster and which could only possibly damage the relationships involved. And it's also bad form to taunt someone one has already been harmed by taunts and abuse previously or claimed to have been. And even if DCP is not 100% sure Eric has been abused emotionally, given what's been said, he should have taken that into consideration that it possibly is true and not mistreated Eric verbally on the board in the way he did.

I agree with you in principle however, I disagree that victim status should give Eric a free pass.

Anyhow, I have no interest in carrying on conversations regarding this. It will likely be my last post on this matter.

Crocket uses his name on this forum, we know what state he lives in and what he does. Where he lives is easily accessible.

I think Dan went overboard in his actions and taunting against Eric. Dan and Crockett have all sorts of support in their lives. Eric's support was compromised by the actions of his step dad. So I am much more empathetic and understanding if things Dan says should provoke Eric into anger and willing to give Eric more leeway, than say Dan. I also don't think it wrong that someone voices their intent to sue.

No I don't just take GoodK's word for it. His dad has written on this board, he's written on the Net as well. He's an overly zealous religious individual. He's a step dad. Eric is not particularly religious. The school as you have noted previously, makes it a requirement to learn and essentially accept their religious teaching/indoctrination.

Eric was sent 2 states away for at least 2 years, from family and friends and lost the ability to build up a social network of support. What do you find astounding? As soon as Eric wrote an anonymous post both you and DCP sent off emails to inform the dad he was critical of the "priesthood blessings". So his step dad obviously has your support and Dan's. Just as you have Dan's and the step dad's. And in addition you didn't go through the self esteem sabotoging program of a Westridge type school. I doubt very much you were treated as a criminal when you were a teen. And you likely were encouraged to go onto University and well prepared emotionally and educationally to do so.

This is my two cents on all of this.

Dan was wrong in posting what he did about GoodK and calling it an experiment or test. He insinuated that Eric lied about being abused and stated other lies about him serving jail time, etc. He later recanted that any of it was true.

I took Dan to task, as did many other posters, for doing this.

I don't blame Eric for being angry and feeling the need to retaliate. Even the lawsuit threat was something that Eric, just like anyone else who is maligned in the good old USA, has a right to pursue if they have deep enough pockets and an attorney willing to take the case. Whether or not he could win is another matter.

Where Eric crossed the line was when he responded to Bob's tauntings by posting, and threatening to further post, personal information of Bob's that Bob had not freely revealed himself.

However, Eric was willing to respond to a dialogue with Shades and myself, and has agreed to not continue this type of behavior.

He is aware that any further behavior of this sort will result in a suspension of posting privileges.

Therefore, from a Moderator standpoint, I consider the matter closed unless the behavior is repeated.

On a personal note, I will add that I really like Eric, and I do think that he is the victim of abuse.

I am also saddened that Dan has decided to no longer post with us, because he also has my friendship and respect. I will miss his perspective on the board, even though I didn't always agree with it.
