"The Murphy Transcript" was the subject of the single most epic thread to ever take place on any message board in the entire history of online Mormonism. It was the thread that single-handedly brought about the destruction of an entire message board. It was the thread that delivered such a tremendously crushing blow to certain apologists that its effects still ripple across the Internet. It was the thread that gave birth to the oppressive moderatorial policies that are practiced by MA&D even today. It was the thread that single-handedly convinced apologists to never, ever meet critics on a level playing field ever again.

The thread took place on the old Zion's Lighthouse Message Board and went from 03/24/2004 to 04/09/2004. It was 28 pages long.

Most helpfully, Mister Scratch, who wasn't involved in the original thread, gave an excellent summary and outlined many of the highlights in a thread titled The Origin of FAIR/MAD.

WARNING: The original thread was SO EPIC that Mister Scratch's summary was, itself, epic. It's not a short read, so set aside some time, pop yourself some popcorn, and kick back for an evening of reading pleasure.

Seems odd to digest that Juliann would forget the lie of a lifetime, the lie that would live in infamy for eternity. Some things should never be allowed to die. The nonexistent Murphy transcript is one of them.

Dwight, the Murphy transcript never existed. It was the first very public lie that certain LDS apologists were caught in, and the repercussions still reverberate whenever they protest their honesty.

Once again, thanks to Dr Shades for preserving that little bit of apologetic history. I am proud to have played a small part in it.
