think Droopy has already described himself, on MAD, as extreme right wing. In other words, he's somewhere between the GOP and NAZI.
Beyond the utterly stupefying ignorance this statement entails, on a number of levels, the NAZIs (German National
Socialists) were left wingers, not right wingers, which brings them into your orbit Ray, but not mine, I'm afraid.
I have described myself, on the MAD boards, as a right wing extremist - in sarcastic jest regarding the cartoon caricature uneducated and emotional people like Ray have of us.
In reality, within conservatism proper, "extremism" really isn't possible. Conservatism is the "politics of prudence" and of careful, judicious progress, and is precisely not the lurching, experimental, novelty for its own sake "change" of the Left.
People with conservative leanings or core values, who become extreme or obsessional on certain issues, inevitably find themselves outside the conservative intellectual movement, and ultimately end, like Pat Buchanan, in nativist, isolationist, big government populism, wholly incompatible with mainstream conservative thought.
Nazism is, of course, statist, collectivist, and totalitarian, completely divergent values from modern conservatism, which is a major school of classical liberalism.
