Here's one from National Geographic.

But Droopy is in line with "the prophets", who have little to say about enviromental dangers. When Kerry raised this, he was branded a "liberal", and no doubt nutcases like Droopy will see him as a "potential apostate".

The fact is they don't take environmental threats seriously. They see more danger in what people do privately in their bedrooms. As if whether a husband and wife agreeing to oral sex will determine the future of society.

When was the last time you heard, in any General Conference, about environmental dangers? Which could, actually, endanger our survival.

National Geographic is a joke, and is riddled with Green propaganda and junk science. Go ahead Ray, be the witless, gullible, mush brained liberal airhead you so desire to be. I'm frankly sick and tired of discussing issue such as this with people who have little more than Twinkie filling taking up the space between their ears.

All well and good, but when I see body of peer reviewed research on the subject, that treats the subject objectively and dispassionately, then we'll see.

Kerry Shirts has been all over the map over the years. I really respect much of what he's done on certain issues. On the other hand, he seems to lurch from intellectual fad to intellectual fad over time, and seems rather unstable in some ways. From my experience with him he understands virtually nothing of political philosophy and his reaction to many political issues seems to be primarily emotional (pretty much like you).

I made no comment regarding the fact that the crap is out there. I think any claim that "millions of lifeforms are dying" because of it is flabbergastingly transparent eco-freak hype, calculated to...that's right, create another crisis the blame for which can be placed on economic freedom, property rights, America, evil corporations, and liberal democracy.

At some point, really, a critical mass of Americans are going to be piss damn tired of being played for witless, manipulatable fools by people like you, Oprah Winfrey, Al Gore, and the remnants of the old hard Left that make up much of the leadership and activist core of the environmental movement.

I know, I know, AGW is just about run its course. Large numbers of people are catching on (especially as living standards begin to drop, as in Britain, or they begin to go hungry in various third world countries thanks to our freakishly idiotic ethanol mandate) to the fraud, and the witch hunt for heretics is losing is luster.

A new crisis to unite the Neo-Pantheist, Neo-Marxist Left is in order. What will it be? Global cooling again (this could be, as the earth has been in the grip of a good cooling for about 7 years now, with no end in sight). Nuclear energy (this would be my pick, as Nuclear energy is a going concern again as the only real alternative to fossil fuels and the brain dead solar and especially wind power "green" technologies").

Maybe you can help the environmental movement come up with a new pseudoscientific hysteria Ray. Look around. Find something created by capitalist dynamism, creativity, and freedom. Then imagine something nefarious or sinister about it. Let that fester. Imagine the entire collapse of the planetary ecosystem if its allowed to continue. Imagine millions of lifeforms being destroyed. Imagine it causes global warming (after all, everything else does).

Then go out and take some movies of it, add some really scary music, and take it on the road. Do a real slick Power Point presentation to go with it, complete with fudged graphs, made up statistics, and more scary music.

And there you have it, a brand new global ecological crisis demanding action NOW (for the children, of course).

You are a herd animal, Ray. "Sheep" doesn't really do it justice at this point.

A primary reason for this may be that a substantial majority of the environmental threats claimed to have been upon us over several decades have, for the most part, turned out to be ideologically driven hoaxes without scientific basis. If they ever find an actually existing one, I'm sure they'll be concerned.

I've thought that on several occasions. Of course, I've thought that about a lot of posters, and at some point, you have to just realize that there are simply a lot of Mormon nut cases out there. They can't all be posers.

But if I had to choose the most likely candidates, they would be Droopy and Will (and from what I remember, Pahoran on MAD).
