So, all you guys who are really into federalism are also opposed to the Defense of Marriage Act and marijuana raids by the feds, right? Or do you guys believe that the federal government shouldn't tell the states what to do only when it's doing something you disagree with?
My good dunce,
DOMA makes it so that one state does not have to recognize gay "marriages" from another state and also denies recognition of gay "marriages" at the federal level, which is perfectly consonant with federalism.
P.S. I didn't even post this on this board. I appreciate that you have such a crush on me, but this level of gayness is out of even my comfort zone.

Perhaps because gay "marriage" is an oxymoron.
So is LDS CULT Temple practices, do we stop the the members chanting Pay Lay Ale!? Talk about oxymoron, do your homework. Many species you know practice same sex intercourse. Homosexual practices were here couple million years before Eloheim showed up to carve his stupid commandments.

I think CC is still on the books of MormonInc.
God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it. Nehor.. Nov 08, 2010

Attention everybody: I am hereby unbanned from MA&D.
Something happened in real life that allowed me to plead my case to a mod, they said they would check with DCP to see if it was OK, and a few days later I was miraculously reinstated. I don't know how much of the "situation" would be considered confidential, so I won't say anymore.
One interesting thing that happened upon my return was receiving a PM from a sympathetic mod who advised me that negative comments regarding FAIR, FARMS, and certain specific board participants were especially rankling to the powers-that-be.

This is no longer true.
Yes it is. Neither the judiciary nor the legislature can, by their ipsissima verba, change the definition of marriage, any more than they can define a square to be a circle. They can grant the same legal rights to homosexual couples but that does not a marriage make.

(I lost access to my Milesius account, so I had to retrieve this one from the mothballs.)

The definitions of words change. It wasn't that long ago that your intellectual forebears were putting scare quotes around interracial "marriage," too.
