I don't think you understand.
John Gee is an Egyptologist.
He submits and presents papers on Egyptological issues, not on "Book of Abraham issues."
Now ... there may very well be elements of his papers that bear upon "Book of Abraham issues," but I doubt his colleagues are concerned with the scriptural canon of John Gee's church. They judge him and his formal papers on the basis of Egyptological considerations.
Quite frankly, he'd be ill-advised to do anything differently than he is.
