Are they keeping a file on YOU???
I was just totally creeped out by Ray's thread on the Church's internal espionage system.
And since a BYU professor admitted to the church's monitoring 1500 websites, it is no wonder that many here prefer to post as "anonymous cowards."
Scratch mentioned in another thread that certain parties were trying to determine what computer he posted from, and figure out who he is in real life.
I imagine there might be a file on the infamous Doctor Scratch, or perhaps the infamous Dr. Shades. My question is:
Do you suspect they have a file on you?
and
Are you worried that someone will try to find out who you are?

I am not worried. Which is why I post under my real name.
Besides... if my posts are being monitored by the Church, then that would likely mean that they are reading them. That would be pretty cool, I think.

Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
Step out of line, the man come and take you away ...
Silly Cokehead: they don't monitor the evil interwebs to build a file on you. They do it in order to know who should be removed from the big file in the sky: The Book of Life.
And, not to worry, I just checked ... and almost everyone who posts on this message board no longer has an entry in the file.
Amazingly enough, both cinepro and Ray still do!
What gives, guys? Are you still both entertaining a haunting suspicion that it's all really true after all?
I knew it.

Do you really believe that there is a big file in the sky? What does it look like? Have all the records been transferred from papyrus to paper to computer? I hope so. If not, maybe you could help with that. But then again, data entry might be a bit above your skill level.

Two of my print articles (1999, 2004) would still be on file. That's not a problem for me. One bishop even said he liked the 1999 one. If I was a member it would be a problem.

What?!!?
Ray, you've done it again! Proved that, for whatever reason, some exmormons have a strange proclivity to becoming humorless, irony-impaired automatons.
"Print articles"? "On file"? What are you talking about?

[Whoosh ... as yet another not-really-that-subtle-to-begin-with Schryver quip goes flying over Ray's head.]

The joke's on you Will. I knew you were joking, but decided to reply on a serious note. Or is doing that beyond your black and white thinking?

It simply overwhelms my gray matter.

Hey Ray, I gotta go now. But have a nice weekend. I have to go to the Wasatch Front, and so I am guaranteed of having a terrible weekend.

But I'm hoping for much better times in your neck of the woods.
Bottoms up!

Which reminds me, I do miss Le Grand Richards and David Haight.
Mc Conkie? Now talk about humourless/irony-impaired/automaton. I might add dour and arrogant.

Besides, Will is a hell of a lot funnier when he's trying to be serious. I mean, which is funnier?
1. You all are going to hell.
2. I've got forthcoming research that lots of experts have validated. Really. You just can't see it yet because you don't know what you're talking about.
