Indeed. It's just that I was disappointed with my amusement about myself. I whole line about me and all I got was a lousy misspelling. My vanity demanded that I take matters into my own hands for amusement regarding myself.

Still, I did get a kick out of some of the others.

"I'll bet this person can't give one example of where I might be defficient in doctrinal knowledge or can't be trusted." Hmm. Says it all, doesn't it?

Well clearly, Dr. Shades, just about every poster on the board who hasn't been Mormon knows more about it than you do. Don't think that half a lifetime of activity, graduating from seminary, and a two year mission would have taught you anything about Mormonism. Graduating from the Lord's University in addition to all that didn't put me too far ahead of you in Justin's estimation.

I guess our unwillingness to give credit to Internet Mormonism is a real problem. ;)
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.

LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

The term "Internet Mormon" is growing kind of stale. I suggest we replace it with "Intarwebz Mormo".

I guess I will take a stab at analyzing Mr. Thames summary of little ole me:

Jason Bourne: LDS Knowledge: 8;

Agree

Trustworthiness 8:

Agree again.

A board stalwart. A board addict.

Probably yes and alas, yes. As much as I try I cannot stay away.

Long posts.

Rarely.

One of the major personalities.

Not sure what that means other than I am here joining in the fray.

A former Mormon bishop.

Correct.
An active LDS but not all that much of a believer.

Yes and actually I am more than not all that much of a believer. Perhaps half way plus. As I have noted here often I believe in God and like religion. I think Joseph Smith brought some wonderful teachings to the world as far as religion goes. The LDS Church is best for me. Am I TBM. Not anymore. Do I believe and have faith. Yes.

Lots of internal struggles as a result.

Yes there are internal struggles over such thing. I am not sure that is a bad thing.
A manifestly poor speller which can put a reader off somewhat.

Yes, yes I know. It is mostly due to fast typing and posting while being too lazy to proof my post. I will try to do better.

Gets his feelings hurt often but keeps coming back for more.

I rarely if ever get my feelings hurt on this board.

For what it's worth, I think this accurately describes how I view myself within the Church.
"Moving beyond apologist persuasion, LDS polemicists furiously (and often fraudulently) attack any non-traditional view of Mormonism. They don't mince words -- they mince the truth."

Yeah I noticed the same thing. The picture on the blog profile is named jreed2.jpg.

"Justin Thames" just registered here.
