WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Tinker Bell has been reunited with her owners after a 70-mph gust of wind picked up the six-pound Chihuahua and tossed her out of sight. Dorothy and Lavern Utley credit a pet psychic for guiding them on Monday to a wooded area nearly a mile from where 8-month-old Tinker Bell had been last seen. The brown long-haired dog was dirty and hungry but otherwise OK. The Utleys, of Rochester, had set up an outdoor display Saturday at a flea market in Waterford Township, 25 miles northwest of Detroit. Tinker Bell was standing on their platform trailer when she was swept away. Dorothy Utley tells The Detroit News that her cherished pet "just went wild" upon seeing her.
Joseph Smith could have done well with this business. You can claim things like "satisfaction guaranteed" because sometimes all you are doing is telling a happy story about the pet's inner feelings. Other times the owner wants you to find a lost pet, and then it's more like digging for treasure.
I think the church should get involved in this. After all, they have a peep stone that actually works, verified by the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. They could use that magic rock to tell pet fortunes and human fortunes for a modest fee. It would help cover for the lack of tithing funds during these difficult economic times. Or they could use it to find some slippery treasure buried in the Wasatch Mountains of Zion. Got to get it before it slips away to the center of the earth. Then the Lost Tribes who inhabit the hollow earth will think that treasures are falling from heaven when all the slippery treasure starts dropping on them.

On a slightly related note, thisis one of my favorite articles about dowsing rods. It shows how believers in the "gift of the rod" can go far beyond finding water or minerals:
At the conference, the less skeptical shared stories of how they’ve used dowsing in their lives. A woman said she used it to find parking spaces in crowded lots and, once, found thieves who had robbed her friend’s house. Another said she used it to find a lost dog.
Mr. Blais, who has been dowsing for 30 years and was the class’s director, said he was a dowsing Santa last year. A friend said she wanted a compact disc from a specific musician as a Christmas present, but she did not specify which album she wanted.
"I didn’t know which album to get, so I used my pendulum," Mr. Blais said. "She said it was perfect. It was the exact one she wanted."

I would have definitely gone to church and sat quitely and listened if the talk if it was going to be on peep stones. I would even give the closing prayer asking that we go home in safety and live a worthy life so one day we will one day receive a peep stone. I would even open each meeting with a prayer for our own peep stone. A peep stone would be a big motivator for the youth. A goal for your life and something you could write down in your five year goals on your covey planner.
