I'm a lurker. I admit it. Dabbling in esoterica, erotica, Spiritualism and ethnocentralism, I came across Mormonism in my studies at Oberlin. Professor Charles Whitman had a particularly focused rifle-shot approach to the study of Mormonism in the Liberal Sciences Department. Without demanding that we regurgitate sociological explanations for cultic practices, we learned at the base of the bell tower, so to speak, discrete and wonderful things of Mormon doctrine and history.
Dunno, but apparently it's distinct from being a "formidable opponent".
I suspect Justin doesn't know what he means, either. He keeps changing his ratings and summaries, which makes me suspect he's taking it a bit seriously.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.
Toughness in Justin's world is a double-egded sword. It can mean that one is above name-calling and argues in a mature way, but it also can mean one is impervious to their own failings.
Clearly, Justin, in his attempt to provoke us, rated some individuals much higher than he believes they really deserve to be rated.
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.
LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.
Gazelam: LDS Knowledge: 6 Trustworthiness: 6 Toughness: 7 A board addict. LDS believer. Can be confrontational but he is rather unfocused. I can’t decide whether his posts are worth reading.
I've evolved from idiot to unfocused. Also I've grown from unreadable to possibly readable.
I feel more mature somehow. Amazing what a week will do to a person. I credit my steady diet of Chorizo burritos and Rockstars.
We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light. - Plato
I think "Justin's" experiment is working fine. It's amazing how a blog opinion can be taken so seriously. for what it's worth, here's my own assessment of myself (some of "Justin's" ratings remain):
Ray A: LDS Knowledge: 7 Trustworthiness: 7 (in real life 10) Toughness: 6 Weakness: Too tolerant of some he should not tolerate. A hopeless board addict. A prolific poster. Former LDS -- a former bishop and now a braindead cabbie in Australia. Addicted to Toohey's Pilsner. Sometimes wild swings in mood or opinions, but a Hoffer-type TBM is one thing sure to set him off. Not all that effective a writer. Doesn't hold his own all that well against dickheads; has better things to do with his time. Marital status: Eternally single. Likes: Nice people. Dislikes: Grumpy people. Life Enjoyment Rating: 10.
Take back your life and your self-image. Don't let others do it (for those who take "Justin" seriously, if any do).
RichardMdBorn: LDS Knowledge: 5 Trustworthiness: 5 Toughness: 8 A execratingly poor writer. Might be an evangelical. Might be highly educated in some other field -- a doctor? A boring -- almost like sitting in church -- writer. Back bencher. He's tough because he's oblivious to people's attacks.
I went from being a being a bad writer to a[n] execratingly poor writer. Nice touch to have a typo there! The other problems are still there. I am an evangelical and work as an actuary.
