The second place article seems to be hot on its tail. No pun intended.
Well, it really should be no surprise. If the article was antimormon with a disparaging quotation by David O. McKay, it should not be surprising that it is being clicked on from around Utah and other parts east, west, north and south. Plus, it is on this site, plus MAD and I would suppose that a couple of other Mormon/antimormon sites as well.
Like I said, the comments section shows the hatred that the LDS has generated. Why? Well, goodness in this world will be attacked and the attack will be unrelenting.
So your thesis will be popular if you threw in some juicy quotations.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world. Joseph Smith We are “to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all…” Joseph Smith
why me wrote:I can understand the reaction of David McKay's. It is not easy watching a catholic celebration were people are drunk as a skunk. The protestants found this hard to swallow also. For protestants, the catholics seemed not to have control over their drinking and sexual habits. The protestants were just more prudent.
And so, what is wrong with McKay's comment? I had the same feeling as a young catholic. Too much boozing going on.
I didn't ask you if you could understand McKay's reaction. I asked you to explain why, if Peggy was driven by an anti-Mormon agenda, why she left out the juiciest part of the quote (calling Catholicism a "Godless farce")?

I think that she had to pick and choose a quotation and run with it. She chose the quotation that she ran with. The second reference is rather disparaging toward catholilcs because it shows catholics drunk during a catholic celebration. This is not complimentary to catholics nor the catholic church. Why show catholics in a bad light and alienate catholics when your job may be to show the LDS church in a negative light?
Best to ignore that drunken catholic celebration altogether.

What nonsense.. Catholic know that Catholics drink.. holiday or otherwise. There is nothing wrong with it. Are you suggesting from your arguments that there was not at one time a strong anti-catholic sentiment in the LDS faith?

why me produces some of the most bizarre, convoluted, and non-sensical material I have ever read on this board. Conversing with him is fun at times, but always ends in frustration as he fails to put forth anything that resembles a logical argument. Even his use of emoticons = epic fail.

Okay, let me simplify it a little: It was not a bunch of catholic guys and gals getting together and getting pissed. It was a catholic celebration And yes, it would paint the catholic church in a negative light since they tolerate drunken behavior during their catholic celebrations. Thus, the reporter chose to leave out the drunken quotation. That's my guess.

I think that my arguments on this board are very logical. They end in frustration for the critic because it is difficult to stump me. I always have a comeback that makes sense.

She portrayed DOM in a much better light than he deserved..
Do you deny that there was at one time a strong anti – catholic sentiment in the LDS church?

Earth calling why me! The reporter didn't leave out the statement about catholics drinking. Pay attention! Look at what I posted (third time now!):
My thesis gave this quote from David O. McKay's diary: “A Catholic Church celebration was held last night [Saturday]—People drinking and carousing until 6:30 this morning. O what a Godless farce that organization is!”
Compare this to what Peggy wrote in her article: "He noted with disdain one Catholic celebration in Belgium, where people were 'drinking and carousing until 6:30 a.m.'"
The issue is that Peggy decided not to quote McKay calling Catholicism a "Godless farce." This is the juiciest part that reveals his anti-Catholicism. So again... if Peggy was so governed by an anti-Mormon agenda, why did she leave this statement out?
Sigh.... talking sense to the senseless sure gets tiring.
I have had enough. If you still don't get it, why me, I give up.
