I don't believe it is the business of church leaders to ask members whether they masterbate or not. It's none of their business. Look, I'm going to be rather crass about it and I don't mean to sound offensive, but this I feel for sure: Church leaders shouldn't be asking boys if they stroke their cocks or asking girls if they tickle their clits! I think too many of the young men of the church are getting hounded by men who love to have control over others.

Hope that didn't sound really nasty. That's how I feel about it.

I don't think the subject of masturbation comes up much in girls' bishop's interviews, at least it didn't in my girls' interviews. The bishop was much more concerned with intercourse than he was with masturbation.

I remember the day my 18 year old daughter found out about masturbation. She didn't believe me, she didn't believe my work colleague. She finally asked the one person in the world she thought she could trust more than anyone: her boyfriend. The conversation was memorable, for them both.
