Yes it did. The article automatically assumes "torture" is bad and pins it on the Mormons whose doctrine is conservative and whose membership is largely conservative.
The subject line set the context for the discussion. You want to discuss something else. If someone else takes you up on it, fine. I am not.
And as I showed, my comment addressed your context directly. I don't care if you don't want to actually discuss your context, I'll still comment as I please.
There is the predictable chorus of support for "enhanced interrogation techniques". There are a few faithful willing to dissent from this view, but they appear to be in the minority. So if the expressions at MAD are any sort of accurate reflection of the LDS population at large, it shouldn't be surprising that several LDS were involved in crafting and/or providing support for the policy.
Indeed. However, the implication here is that the policy is somehow wrong.
How does following the treaties to which we are a party constitute an abandonment of the war on terror?
And if the treaty is ambiguous enough? It now depends on which opinion you get. If there is greater good to be done, I would break any treaty and so would you.
Do you get your news from anywhere other than WorldNetDaily?
Does your erudition extend only as far as CNN and NPR?
I would rather be among those who are concerned it might be wrong than among those who unthinkingly assume it is just fine and dandy.
I would rather that one man die than an entire nation dwindle in unbelief. Or that a few are coerced into giving answers that would save the lives of American citizens.

I know reading skills aren't a prerequisite for participating in online discussions, but you should really improve yours.

Exhibit A of your illiteracy. If you can't tell the difference between the idea you have paraphrased and torture, then you have no business pretending to engage in an intelligent discussion of the issue.
