These are three pics of part of the city I live in, snapped from Google Earth. In the second one, I live less than a kilometre to the left of the athletic track you see. The third pic is a greater view of the whole South Coast area, and to the north is Sydney, about 50 miles away. The beaches stretch all the way to Sydney:
