Past presidents have failed to do this. Thomas Monson is the prophet, seer, and revelator for the whole Church, not the scholars. I dare think that if the prophet won’t step forward and provide revelation to the Church then he is not doing his duty in this matter and will be held accountable. At the least, the President of the Church should provide an explanation for why he isn’t providing an explanation.

How long are you willing to wait for the Church to do this?
If I recall correctly, this was BH Robert's hope, as well, in regards to the problems facing the Book of Mormon. All the brethren ever did in response to his concerns was to bear their testimonies.
Well, his silence can be interpreted in many ways:
1. he's ignoring the issue because he doens't want to open that can of worms.
2. he knows his seer abilities don't extend to this
3. he sees no reason to worry about something that is already established as fact, and concentrates on more pressing issues, like what building project to fund next.
4. he's just coasting and has no better conduit to God than anyone else.

As a spirit being, I will commune face to face with God and get answers myself. No more need for prophets!

For the record, I’ve been baptized by both water and the Spirit – and have lived a life of faith. I have every reason to believe that I will see God in the hereafter. Nothing can separate from the love Christ and he is and always will be my friend. That is my faith.
I have a clear conscience. I don’t fear the Day of Judgment when it is I myself that will judge me. I don’t believe the Father will judge me at all, nor will Christ. When I have a perfect knowledge of all things I will judge myself and render myself to God. I feel this reflects well my relationship with Christ.

I don’t know what makes you so upset towards me personally; neither do I want to know. It seems like you have some bones to pick. No need to pick at my bones!
Anyway, I love Jesus and he loves me. Anything you say cannot make that less so. As I said earlier, I have a clear conscience and trust that God will be there to greet me when I leave this mortal sphere. I look forward to heavenly glory and don’t understand why you would want to spoil my faith in this. You have no power to prevent Christ from blessing me. Don’t judge my life.
