At this point it appears that you are arguing for the sake of argument. Anyone with at least half a brain, and this includes you (who far surpass this minimum), has long figured out that this was a joke. Most of us recognized it was a joke from the get go. For the few who did not, I refer you to the vast corpus of Gadianton posts for evidence of a clear and persistent pattern of spoofing and outrageously exaggerated rhetoric. Now it seems that, having returned from a pleasurable intellectual forum in one of the world's more beautiful regions, LOaP and DCP are bored and looking for a little cat and mouse with Gad and Scratch. Have fun, boys.

Oh, come on. You know they are both in on it.

Anyone with at least half a brain? Would you like to reply to this recent post by Liz?

No really, Trevor. Go ahead.

Gadianton's callous abuse of Liz's trust is one of the more distasteful aspects of his months-long spoof.

No problem. Liz is pulling Gad's leg too. Anyone with half a brain can see that. And now you are pulling my leg, and anyone with half a brain can see that. And so on ad infinitum.

you know what, LoaP, you are right. Just like those kids were who pushed me to jump off the ramp that was horribly built. Jumping off proved to their satisfaction that I wasn't scared to. And do you remember this, "If thou be the Son of God, turn those stones into bread!" Jumping off a cliff and turning stones into bread technically wouldn't have proven that Jesus was the Son of God, but it would have been good enough for the devil.

Get thou behindest me.

Comparing yourself to Christ is perhaps the most bizarre thing you've done so far. We are talking about whether you presented at an academic conference. It's not life or death. It's certainly not analogous to daring kids to ride bikes off jumps. It's a yes or no question.
One moment in annihilation's waste,
one moment, of the well of life to taste-
The stars are setting and the caravan
starts for the dawn of nothing; Oh, make haste!

ROFLMAO!!!

Ahem, I mean, uh yes. Indubitably.

I just have to assume at this point that there are numerous levels of irony at play in this discussion. Otherwise, I'd lose my marbles.

Really? Because I was thinking it was one of the more boring and cliché parts of what he has been doing. The bizarre part is the whole bicycle analogy. Perhaps it's a kind of send up of Stephen E. Robinson's parable?

I think you're taking this much too lightly, Trevor. Seriously, I do.

This game has gone on much too long, even if it is designed to satirize and caricature the ever-fantasizing Scratch.

If Liz truly believed that Gad was sincere about presenting at SMPT, I apologize. I admit that at this point my own mental adjustments to deal with this bizarre odyssey have probably placed me far outside of the normative range of response to it. It all strikes me as so thickly ironic and satirical that I have a difficult time understanding either side of this dance anymore. Over time it has slowly dissolved into a carnivalesque spectacle before my eyes. I simply can't read it straight anymore. I'm incapable of it. My sincere apologies to those who actually claim to be victimized.
