Upon the death of Mormon royalty they deserve no trumpet but instead the sound of crickets.
I am sure he was a good person though, too bad this man was a prisoner to a contrived way of life.

And crawling on the planet's face
Some insects called the human race
Lost in time
And lost in space...and meaning

Truman Madsen was a gifted storyteller. I especially like his take on polygamy in this video:
Madsen on Joseph Smith's Plural Marriages
What it lacks in accuracy, it makes up for in folksy ambiance.

Ray,
Sorry my irony didn't come across just right. I'm only ribbing you.
Merc,
Given your strong feelings on what a deception Mormonism is, I thought you did okay by saying something nice about the deceased.

I thought you might have been. But unfortunately I couldn't see your face or hear your voice. Which reminds me I hope to put a video together soon. I'll be dedicating it to selek. You won't have any misunderstanding when you see my facial expressions.

I see it too:

Re: Truman Madsen Dies.
I had actually planned to say some positive things about Madsen, but when I read what bullies like selek have to say, and remain on the board without banning or suspension, my reaction is:
Go “F” yourself.
Okay, had to get that off my chest.

Remain on what board? I checked MA&D, and didn't see a comment from him on the thread. Selek also hasn't posted anything here, either.
So which board are you talking about?
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

I'm not talking about that thread in particular, Shades, but his overall commentary on MAD. This dude is sick. See my recent posts on MAD, for which I expect to soon be banned forthwith. I don't give a flying “F”.

Re: Truman Madsen Dies.
Inconceivable,
I found it on google images. I was looking for a recent shot, most were from the late 70's early eighties it seemed. That shot is from the "On Sacred Ground" DVD. So Its from withen the last 5 years or so. I think the "aura" around it is just from the way the video was playing when the screen shot was taken.
But from the way the man lived his life, it very could well be one of those "I captured their aura on film" moments
I just read this on another site, amazing...
Wow.

Barnard Madsen, Truman G. Madsen’s son, said the lectures showed him his father’s love for the prophet. Madsen gave the lectures during BYU’s Education Week in 1978. The family was building a cabin at Brighton that year and Madsen barely had enough time to drive to the Marriott Center the first day, change out of his overalls and give the lectures.
“He didn’t have any notes,” Barnard Madsen said. “It was so much a part of his soul that he didn’t need any notes; he just talked for two hours back-to-back for four days.”
Wow.
