I like how the link says Mormons are forcibly baptizing dead holocaust victims. You'd think Mormons are stealing the corpses of dead Jews and immersing them in a baptismal pool.

A page reference to the passage in the French report that allegedly declares Mormonism a "cult" would have been helpful.

As far as I can tell, the report does not specifically refer to Mormonism as a "cult". However, the Church is mentioned three times in passing in the section on "Assistance Strategies for Victims of Sectarian Deviance in Europe" ("Dispositifs d'assistance aux victimes des dérives sectaires en Europe").
On page 89 the report discusses a Finnish non-governmental organization that provides information about "certain religious movements"—among them, Mormonism. It also mentions a Finnish-language website run by an anonymous ex-Mormon that disseminates "abundant" critical information about Mormonism. On page 93, it rather bizarrely includes Mormons among "neo-pentecostal groups" in Cyprus. And that's it.

A quick perusal of the comments section makes me wonder how anyone can find this board to be abnormally hostile toward Mormon beliefs. Wow.

Don't wonder too much. The board is, what it is. You read it or snub it. Up to you.
The Blogger who writes this stuff;
Religious freedom, or just plain sick? The Mormons have a plan to convert every single one of you to Mormonism on your death. Did your mom or dad, or child or friend die? The Mormons either have already, or will, baptize your dead family member or friend to convert them to Mormonism against your will, against their will. The Mormons aren't content forcing people of other faiths to live under their religious rules, they're stealing our dead too.
is plain stupid. How can a dead object conversion against her/his will?
It is funny.
What's not funny is running those names in Temple rituals despite living objections of Jews

Yeah -- that has a vaguely familiar sound to it...

If you don't want to be baptized after death, don't die. Stupid whiney babies.

I just stole Daniel Peterson's car.
Ok, his car is still out in the lot where he left it, and I'm down here in Arizona. But I just performed a ritual stealing of his car. I hope he doesn't mind.
Seriously, the whole "they're stealing our dead" thing is really stupid. Anyone in the world could perform some farsical ceremony on behalf of anyone else in the world who has died, and it wouldn't mean squat. Why non-Mormons should give a crap about what Mormons do or say "on behalf of" the souls of their dead loved ones is beyond me.
Bottom line: if one doesn't believe that Mormon rituals have any real effect, then what is the real problem here? If it has no effect, then nothing has happened to one's dead loved on - at all.

Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen
