You must have missed the part when President Kimball prophesied about "when the world will be converted." They even made a film showing graphs and charts and animated progress of the church sweeping the world.

No, I read the talk a long time ago. I believe the words taught. If (as so often happens) someone took the theoreticals he gave and tried to chart it out saying the prophet said this then they were wrong. The talk in question for anyone interested:

It wasn't "someone," it was the church who put out a film showing how the gospel was going to fill the world. We had it in our mission office, and we used to show it to motivate each other to work harder. But certainly the idea was officially taught that the gospel would sweep the world.
My experience is that antiMormonism, including the internet, drives people to join the Church because of the questions it induces and the answers and proofs that differ vastly from what is claimed by them. It does make our job alot easier too by weeding out the tares.

The Nehor is probably just out of practice. He fled to MAD a little while back after he was told that he never posted anything of substance. He went back and forth, waffling on whether or not A) he was capable of substance and simply opted to never post anything of substance, or B) he *used* to actually be substantive but was filled with such loathing for the people here that he would "hide his light under a bushel," as it were. He was given a CFR to prove that he did post something of substance at some time over the course of his 7,000+ posts, but he failed to do that, and fled the board.
Now he's back, and I would guess that he is either "attempting substance," or this is just him "entertaining himself" by acting as if he is illiterate and unable to execute very basic tasks of reading comprehension.

Yeah, the Church puts out lots of crap videos. So what? I've seen the one you're talking about. Found it in an old house and watched it with members on Mission. Didn't like it.

No, you accused me of never saying anything of substance. I pointed out that you once thought I was a substantive poster and quoted it and then you sandpapered the thread and said you were lying or something. Then I left when GoodK started threatening lawsuits. Your files need to be updated or you need to get your informants on the case. Even your selective Jerry Springer memory is failing. Can't get the gossip right.

So, to recap, JSM and others said that the church taught that it would eventually convert the world. You ridiculed this statement, and now you say you've seen the official church film but you didn't like it, as if that means it wasn't taught.
I wonder how many of the remaining 75% found information about blacks and the priesthood and didn't believe it (or didn't think it mattered), and how many never even bothered to look.
Well, you know this is very interesting. A great many people joined the LDS church during the priesthood ban. I do believe that the church was growing by leaps and bounds.
Now suddenly, the blacks and the priesthood has become a bedbug for critics. Of course, the way certain websites portray the LDS church leaves much to be desired. But then again, the LDS are now fighting back and if anyone wishes to read a balanced debate they can. But perhaps many find an easy way out and just read an antisite.

Sure, there was growth during the ban years, but we didn't see the major growth until the mid to late eighties and early nineties.
I don't know what you mean about it being a "bedbug," but it certainly is something that is troubling to members and nonmembers alike.
