I would highly recommend that you read and digest your own linked material, Byron.

It really has manifestly become your fault now, hasn't it?

Did you intentionally omit the rest of my post? Here it is again for your benefit:

"Mormonism is a church with a "lay" priesthood:

"and when someone says that BYU is not part of the indoctrination that occurs within Mormonism for the vast majority of those who attend BYU, who do they think they are kidding? Here is a link for the word "seminary":
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seminary

BYU is a seminary (for a "lay" priesthood), specifically adapted for the training of the Mormon "lay" clergy and those (like Mormon women at BYU) who submit to the authority of The Mormon Priesthood.

Byron, BYU has solid academic rankings--well above average. It's ranked 113th overall in the nation by US News and World Report. Eighteen required hours in religion does not a seminary make.

Obviously, those courses did SilentKid no damage.

It's okay to be wrong, Byron. It's significantly less okay to be so gratuitously and grandiosely wrong about something so simple, after you've been informed of the contrary.

I quoted the part of your post demonstrative of the fact that you are full of hot air and not much else.

I would explain it to you again, but it is apparent that you are one of those for whom the adage: "None are so blind as those who will not see" applies.
As for your friends who admire BYU, here is a little suggested reading:

http://socserv.mcmaster.ca/econ/ugcm/3l ... index.html

It applies to Mormonism equally as it does to other forms of theism. I don't believe that anyone would go to BYU, as a student, teacher or staff, who has an ounce of self respect.

Ah yes, D'Holbach. The Good old anti-democratic French Enlightenment fellow who encourages vice as long as it makes us happy.
One moment in annihilation's waste,
one moment, of the well of life to taste-
The stars are setting and the caravan
starts for the dawn of nothing; Oh, make haste!

Ah, but you're quickly forgetting that "happiness is the purpose and design of our existence", even if it means screwing your neighbour's wife.

Now that you have demonstrated you know nothing of Holbach, maybe you can give us your interpretation of Bruno Bauer's 1877 book.

Separate bash BYU and Bruno Bauer book threads might be in order. It would be easier to follow the topics.

This thread is going this way and that.

KA--Feeling sorry for SK, the handsome, funny, intelligent scientist with not a shred of self-respect.

You may be right. Except I thought that DrDCP was the official voice of BYU (sent on Earth to correct the BYU bashers).
