Our resident board prophet makes a lot more sense than some other prophets I know of.

And look!

I'm just off to do a scripture search to look for a chillingly appropriate prediction from thousands of years ago.

It is obvious that the Mormons have been trusting in the arm of the flesh.

Or Moroni raised his arm to the flare. Or something.

At any rate, that arm needs to go. Where's Ammon when we need him?

I drove past last night at one in the morning and I thought the rain must have washed it off. Or the crew got up there and worked on it.

Let's say the day comes, God begins pouring out his wrath, and now you are the new leader of Zion. Are you ready, or even interested in the day-to-day challenges of 1) dealing with the problems of thousands of people as their leader 2) everything in 1 with the added challenges of surviving in the mountains? I mean, you're not going to get a whole lot of guitar time in. And once the prophecies start unfolding, you won't have the mystical element to look forward to anymore, you're now dealing with the day-to-day reality of survival in the mountains with people who are far from having a pioneer background. The fun and games of prophecy and the mysteries of Godliness are going to be over, and your life reduced to boring day-to-day survival 99% of the time.

I have not expectation of dealing with the pretenders. If you want anything from me you got to jack it up and become Zion within your heart by the power of Christ and the promised recreation of heart from the Father. I would be willing to set up a school to teach people how and hold them to the standard of Zion. I think that would be thrilling, if there were faith enough for people to regularly get it right.

I would have no problem dealing with what ever comes up if there are true saints around. No dead weight, unless they are somehow connected to a true saint, eeeesh that could get cumbersome!

Gadianton wrote:Just about every "prophet" I've met online seems to fit the mold of being creative, artistic, kind of a loner, sensitive, and clearly the type that would have a nervous breakdown in a leadership position with war, famine, and disasters surrounding them. Now, there are semi-rugged types with a "last days" streak like Droopy who would do ok on the survival level, but lack leadership, charisma (to an extraordinary degree), and usually aren't dead set on being the futuristic Prince David anyway. It's very rare to get creativity, leadership, self-sufficiency, and the belief in one's own greatness in the mix Joseph Smith had.

I got a bag or weaknesses. Mostly because I keep my head out of the world and pay little attention to the details of wisdom in this world.

Gadianton wrote:Rather, the online prophet types are usually artsy/flakey/imaginative types who never have struck me as having thought through the endgame of their fantasies. After the thrill of having all your prophecies confirmed and telling everyone you were right all along, the Last Days are really going to suck.

I don't recognize any online prophets, never met one. No substance that smacks me in the face as being hooked up with the Highest.
I understand being tossed in the pool with everyone else. But, ah, where's the beef?

Who else is artful in the slightest? I have not run across anyone. Anyone else come up with an original theology that fits scriptures air tight? Forgive a little bit of lone-man-on-the-mountain-top-chest-pounding. I got abandonment issues I'm still working on.

My greatest gift was to survive forty years with the gospel right. I don't know if I need to do more than that. I could pass on no problem if someone else gets up to speed.

Love to be tested at something new. Just bring it.

Thank you for the brotherly support. You definitely have an advantage here as I've never watched reality TV, there may not be a better way to predict how people from our time will act in a time of calamity. As far as Droopy and Nitelion teaming up, maybe Droopy can write the lyrics for Nitelion's songs? In all seriousness, I can't even imagine a conversation between Droopy and Nitelion. It would be very weird.

You saying there is something wanting in the lyrics of my songs?
Check out my THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE thread. On my web site is a page of Zion Song lyrics. What do I need to do?

Thanks for the response Nitelion. But I am very skeptical, not so much about your prophecy, but of your ability to see it through the last days.

You're revealing your inability to lead zion right here. What, you think Moses just had all the fun of Going up Mt. Sinia and then layed down on a couch and spoke profound truths to an easy audience? Did Lehi have the luxary of family and friends who all just hung on every word he said?

Of course you're willing to sit around and let the masses come to you and annoint your feet, make you their leader, and gasp at every word of wisdom out of your mouth all while they figure out all their problems of survival on their own. That's just a typical male fantasy, particularily typical of artist/musician types or sci-fi dudes who have difficulty on a social level or dealing with the mundane reality that usually comes with striving for success.

You apparently have a huge problem dealing with whatever might come along. The first part, to get Zion to listen to you, follow you, get along with each other, and get themselves out the door to begin their arduous trek is half the battle.

If you were a Lehi, a Moses, or a Joseph Smith, (or even a Morpheous!) you'd be pleading with the Lord at night and wetting your pillow with your tears in desperation over getting one or two Saints to listen. You would feel pain when you are rejected for the sake of what the soul has lost. Your every concern would be over how you might gather your people.

The trial of Zion has always been a fallen world and the trial of a true prophet, a fallen Zion. Put away your guitar, buy a gun, man up and go out and get Zion and lead them to the top of Mount Olympus. Wear out your life serving the people that reject you, that scorn you, that are rebellious and won't listen to you. It's your responsibility, if you can't do it, if you won't even try and just expect Zion to come to you, then all you are is another poet/sci-fi geek loner with a fantasy of greatness doomed to fail that allows him to justify avoiding the responsibilities of a family, a job, or otherwise anything that looks remotely like hard work where one might break a sweat from time to time.

I think you're the latter. I've met your kind many times. If you're really a prophet, prove me wrong and start acting like one instead of an angsty teen playing his guitar in the park hoping people will notice his great gifts and fall at his feet.

I don't like English since somewhere I've read "vuz" instead of "was". (it wasn't a place for joking)

by the way I didn't like English before that.

The gift to write a play allows you to get into charactor (sic)
It works the same for music as it does for words. Pick a character and emote.
