That's the nature of small minded people, they seek out what tells them what they are already telling themselves. It makes it easier. John, would you turn down any guest or topic, especially those that might make the church look good?
:P
They didn't stay away from Dehlin's site and he had a broad spectrum of people. John had the unique ability to appeal to a wide spectrum of belief and thought. And that is what made his podcasts a work of art.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world. Joseph Smith We are “to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all…” Joseph Smith

Stay tuned, folks!
I'll bet a penny that you will be highly critical of a woman's place in the LDS church. And the panelists will mainly be disgruntled members or postmembers who will bend over backwards to paint the church as a backward organization.

Have you actually read my posts? I'm pretty fair-minded. Are there things that I think should change? Yes. Does that mean I'm "highly critical"? I don't think so. As far as categorizing me as someone who would bend over backwards to paint the Church as a backward organization....I think you are way off base.
Frankly, there are a lot of things that women were allowed to do as part of the original Church that Joseph Smith organized that has evolved over time based on tradition and biases. I would like to see more of the original core of the Relief Society organization explored.
Oh, Liz. When you stopped drinking the kool-aid, you stopped being a good person for whyme. You naughty girl, you. I am excited to have you on the podcast, I know you will be lovely.

Lets see what happens. I hope that you make me proud! But if John is true to form, this will be a critical podcast about the LDS church.

Lets see what happens. So far, the LDS have been outweighed by the critics. And many of the LDS on the podcasts have been far from supportive of the LDS church. Listening to John's podcasts about Mormon Expressions gives me the impression that Mormons and exmos are rather negative about the LDS church. Has there been a tbm on his podcast? If so, I must have missed it.

And if you are true to form, why me, you will continue to point out perceived flaws in everyone else.
You may think John is bias against the church, but I think that John is much more objective that Dehlin was. But what is my opinion worth compared to yours? Nothing, I suspect.
The podcast is not very old. In a real sense you are reviewing the movie after watching only 5 minutes. I've got more interviews in the wings, but they take time to schedule and record and what not. It takes time to arrange the schedules, edit, blah blah blah.
There are active Mormons on the panel and more active Mormons scheduled for recording. However, something tells me that they won't be Mormon enough for you.
I have reached out to some pretty mainstream Mormons, but let me tell you, it is much like the MAD boards. For some reason, many of them do not want to appear on an even playing field. They have made some pretty stringent demands that would be unacceptable to any media outlet.
For the record, I am willing to let anyone on who has something interesting to say. And I will agree to not edit a single word they say. I will even show them how to prove this is the case.
Besides all that, the mainstream view does not need any help. There are plenty of powerful outlets and voices trumpeting the party line. I have no problem with that, but why would I want just one more of those? I am looking for a unique space. There are enough bombastic defenders and shrill critics out there. And even more to the point, the outlier view that my podcast represents is still part of the body of Mormonism and a facet of the culture. Some people do not like that these voices exist. So be it. But nothing is served by silencing them.

You mean, be honest about it and describe it accurately? I can see how that would be a problem for you.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.
