Droopy:

You're displaying some very, very fundamental misunderstandings of the Internet Mormonism/Chapel Mormonism dichotomy.

I suggest that you brush up on the topic by reading the essay. Pay particular attention to the second half of the fourth sentence of the fifth paragraph.
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

Chapel Mormons aren't blind. They simply follow the prophet in all things.

Following the blind suggests the blind leading the bind. Ha! now I have the hymn that goes, "Follow the prophet, follow the prophet..." in my head. I don't follow the prophet, then am I still ignorant?

No I'm not, I've been following it since it began, at least in this forum, and I understand it perfectly well.

That is a false statement.

If it was true, you wouldn't've made the following baseline error:

All Mormons don't blog and use message boards, but many of the faithful LDS who do are the same faithful LDS who show up at sacrement meeting on Sunday, pay a full tithing, split with the missionaries, are good neighbors and citizens, and believe that Book of Mormon people's really existed, that Adam and Eve were real, historical figures, and that the Book of Abraham is the word of God and an ancient document.

. . . you'd realize that Internet Mormonism doesn't describe people who just happen to use the Internet. Likewise, Chapel Mormonism doesn't describe people who just happen to spend some time in the Chapel on Sunday.

Internet Mormonism vs. Chapel Mormonism 101.

Since the entire concept doesn't represent an actual sociological phenomena, but exists only in your own mind, the distinctions are rather moot.

It exists only in my own mind, eh? Then enlighten me:

Did Noah's flood cover every square inch of planet Earth? Yes or no?

I have it on good authority that I am a Liahona Mormon, neither Internet nor Chapel. Sort of a Liberal type, not conservative at all (Internet and Chapel being at opposite ends of the Conservative Likert Scale, mostly).

Harmony,

Did I understand correctly, from a different post of yours, that a “Liahona Mormon” might be like a non-denominational christen? i.e. you believe in Mormon doctrine but do not go to church, or if you do, don’t really support the “brethren”?

Quite the contrary. I am fully active in my ward, hold 2 callings (webmaster and bulletin lady), pay a full tithe and hold a current temple recommend, which means I sustain the Brethren and my local leaders.

What I am not is a sheep. I reserve the right to run every single decision, ancient or modern, through my own personal inspiration to verify its veracity and truth for my life. I make no claim to receiving revelation for anyone but myself and those over whom I have stewardship. I worship only God and allow no man to step between us. I've tested my relationship with God often in the past, and am comfortable receiving his guidance on a daily basis.

I tend to get under the skin of a few of the more... conservative type Mormons... here. Oh, and I have an adversarial relationship with the Wench, but I find it less and less entertaining as I've found, to my surprise, that I've grown past the MAD folks.

Thanks Harmony,

only reason I ask is sometimes I wonder if I could go back and focus on people instead of doctrine ... going from one extreme to another (ultra-conservative TBM to ultra-liberal).

you sound like a fire-cracker (meant in a good sense)!
