"Sin" is a word in the minds of human beings (some human beings) -- it entails
separation from God. God simultaneously comprehends all separation and all
union. Therefore God transcends "sin."

Human beings create God in their own image -- which may at times be reassuring,
but is inevitably incomplete and largely formulated out of ignorance.

"Eternity" cannot be "spent," because eternity is NOT endless time. There is no such
thing as endless time.

The notion of God as a limited (but powerful) being is an illusion. Such a god is a human
creation and bears about as much resemblance to Divine Reality as a single grain of sand
bears to a galaxy.

"Sex" is a function of mid-range lifeform reproduction. The lowest lifeforms are unisexual.
At some point in evolution sentient beings learn to control their own biology and again
become unisexual (or, at least have the opportunity/ability to do so).

Enjoyment, coupled with sex is a function of mid-range lifeforms. It has about as much
resemblance to Infinite Bliss as the dimensions of an electron have to the radius of a star cluster.

Yes, God knows all those things because he suffered for all sins. However, I believe God is all knowing only in the sense relative to us. Beyond that, I believe God knows everything only with a high degree of probability.

I'm with Dale on this one.

I find it completely silly to think a "God" of the universe is like a human male who lived 3,000 years ago, like a human male in 20th century Utah, or like any of the hundreds of Gods men have created.

While I suppose the LDS church likes to assert they have all the answers, it was actually part of my difficulty believing.

I think the universe is about a billion, billion, billion, billion times beyond what we can comprehend.

No need whatsoever to limit God to what a few guys want "him" to be; as Dale said, God is created in the image of those who create God.

So, what you're really telling me is that god is inconsistent and capricious.

I just love this idea, "Well, if you had experienced him like I have, you'd know" rubbish people try to sell. Given that these people can never agree on the details, what's more likely, that they've had some divine experience or that they misinterpreted their experience?

No disrespect to you; I have no doubt you think you know something I don't about this god figure you believe in. But to my ears, and given my own experience, you just sound deluded.

The fact is, I've been looking for god my whole life, and so far, he's let me down. If he really loves everyone, it seems to me he wouldn't hide himself from some percentage of those that genuinely seek him.

Now, I understand that your reflexive response to this will be something along the lines of "You haven't looked for him the right way," etc etc, but again, that just points to god being an asshole to certain people. If there is a god, it's not anything I could justify worshipping.

I would not claim, "There is no god" because you can't prove that kind of negative. But given what I have experienced, I have absolutely no reason to believe there is one, either.

I think it would be cool to have ten PH.d's. It would be better to have one in each subject taught at Harvard University. Now just imagine ten to the millionth power of that and that is where I believe God is.

We on this earth spend so little time on it and by the time we think we understand one trillionth of what is going on then it's over. And that is for someone who makes it to age 80.
