If God is a "dumb supernatural," then our all agreeing to that statement would no doubt end the discussion.

Just to be clear, the "dumb" was referring to the kid, not the supernatural. I could have (and perhaps should have) said, "some supernatural dumb kid" but the order of adjectives somehow doesn't sound right to me.

Therefore, I suggest that others go and and find out for themselves -- if they have the mentality and ability to do so.

This sort of sentiment is simply outrageous. The underlying assumption is that people haven't tried yet. It's incredibly pretentious and ridiculous, and it makes me think the people who say it have a genuine cognitive disability (as though assuming you have some sort of relationship with an imaginary supernatural being isn't enough).

And there you have it Schmo. A characteristic of many a believer is that the supreme being in the universe has, for some reason, chosen him to reveal his mind, will, secrets, and so forth. Out of the billions upon billions of persons who have inhabited this planet, the believer is one of a very select few on whom this all-knowing and all-powerful supreme being has chosen.

The believer has this almost pathological need to feel special. She cannot explain why God has singled her out, nor can she explain why others who have striven as diligently and faithfully as her have not been chosen, but for some reason, God has chosen her.

Pretty heady stuff.
