When Jill Bell noticed a dent on the hood of her car two winters ago, she thought it would be appropriate to paint a Band-Aid on the scrape.

After the painted bandage survived the ice and snow of winter, Bell decided that she wanted to repaint her car entirely - in nail polish.

Over the next 13 months, from September 2007 to this past October, she completely covered her car in a quilt-like pattern – as a quilter, she found the multi-pattern paint job fitting, she said.

Bell said she collected between 100 to 250 bottles of nail polish, but did not have an exact idea as she simply used bottles from anyone she could get it from.

Seized by Italian police during a raid on a Mafia gang, the "cell phone" is a gun which holds four .22 bullets.

The gun is triggered by pressing the keypad, and the bullets exit through the "antenna."

7-Up was originally formulated with... lithium!
Image

"The drink was originally marketed as a hangover cure - due to the inclusion of lithium citrate. It was released just a few years before the Wall Street crash of the 1920s and it was marketed under the name “Bib-Label Lithiated Lemon-Lime Soda” - quite a mouthful! The name was changed to 7-Up shortly after its release but lithium remained one of the ingredients until 1950.

Some popular myths surround the name of the drink - but the name is most likely due to the original recipe containing 7 ingredients (with the “up” portion relating to the lithium) or the fact that lithium has an atomic mass of 7."

A Dangerous Pulpit?

Image

"For centuries the word of God had been preached unhindered from the pulpit in the Church of All Saints – then along came the health and safety jobsworths.

Now the church has been forced to draw up guidelines after being warned by council officials that the pulpit is ‘dangerous’ and that preachers might be injured while climbing its seven spiral stone steps."
The pulpit in question, pictured above, has been in use since the 16th century, in a church that dates to 1172, with no record of injured clergy...

If the Wizard of Oz had come out in 2009 instead of 1939:

"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"
