This is exactly what I mean. Sure, I am sympathetic. This used to eat at me too. Then, I realized that people are people. We can wish for them to be something other than what they are all we want, but that won't make it happen.

The LDS Church is a corporation run by corporate types. Sure, you could switch these guys out for ditch-diggers and carpenters, but, then it would no longer be the successful enterprise it is. And, people worship at the cult of success long before they worship at the feet of Jesus.

What's wrong with a ditch digger? Can he not be spiritual and feel God in his life? Can't a ditch digger be a prophet? Can a ditch digger perform miracles and lead the saints into prosperity? Not according to white collar men! You have to have worldly skills to run the true church.

Ray A is right. The church needs a revolution starting with Jesus releasing the entire leadership of the church and replacing them with simple men of the earth. Toss in a few white collar men just so they can learn true humility.

I hate to burst your bubble, Paul, but your namesake was the reason Christianity took off, and he was the son of a wealthy tent-maker with ties to the elite of imperial society. If it had been left to the fishermen whom Jesus chose, Christianity would be nothing but another forgotten Jewish sect.

What am I trying to justify? I don't need to justify a damn thing. I love God, I love myself, and I'm trying damn hard to love everyone else too.
