Dexter Fans???(Spoilers if you missed Sunday's episode)

Post by _Yoda »

Is anyone watching the new season of Dexter?

I'm a new convert to the show! I love it!

My heart stopped when Deb was shot! From the previews, it looks like Lundy is dead.

Do you think they will kill Deb off eventually, too?

I hope not! She is a great character. Dexter would be lost without his sister.

It looks like Dexter has plenty of personal motive to go after the Trinity Killer, though.

John Lithgow was great casting for that role. He is so evil!!

Really???

No Dexter fans?

That's disappointing.

It's a great show!

Yes. I just caught up on the ones I missed. I wish they would stop dropping all the f-bombs and showing all the skin though. Dexter's comment when (?) picked up the baby block, That is the first thing I'm cutting off was funny. Did you see the mobile hainging over Dexter's last conquest?

We're sick puppies, aren't we?

I posted about Dexter a season or two ago and there were one or two other posters who were fans of the show. From what I understand the tv series is based on a series of books by Jeff Lindsay.

I'm going to have to find the books!

I just love the show. I'm a big fan of dark comedy, and there is a lot of that in Dexter. Yes, the bit about her hand getting cut off first was great! LOL

The show is so well acted. The F bombs kind of work for Dexter's sister. She really has incorporated the bad language as part of her character.

I'm glad I have a fellow fan to talk about the show with. Can't wait until Sunday!

Dexter's Laboratory is a cartoon for kids. I'm rather surprised you're such a fan of this, Liz. I guess there's no accounting for taste.

Actually, Shades..."Dexter's Laboratory" is one of my son's favorite shows! It's on Boomerang. I love that station. It has a lot of the old Hannah Barbara cartoons from my day like "Scooby Doo" and "The Flintstones".

The "grown-up" Dexter that Msnobody and I were referring to, however, is on Showtime.

There's more than one Dexter?

In the grown-up version, does he still invent things and get foiled by Dee Dee?

Liz: I love Dexter, Liz. Been a fan of the show since Season 2. I'm with msnobody in that I could do without the heavy profanity and the skin, but beyond that, the show has been a devious delight for me.

My thoughts on this season so far:

~ Yes, Lundy is dead for good. Hate to brag but I saw it coming from a mile away.
~ I really don't like Debra. Never have. But I don't think she'll be killed off. She's too much of an emotional anchor for Dexter.
~ I think someone from Dexter's inner circle is going to find out who he is this season. It's possible that they are setting up Rita for this. She knows that he lied to her about the car accident, the concussion, and now she's seen him breaking the neighbor's motion sensor lights. Recall also that in Seasons 1 & 2 she found out that Dexter had lied to her about knocking out her ex-husband, and she brushed it off and covered for Dexter because she didn't want to know the truth about him. Debra is the other likely possibility with her investigation into her father's past.
~ It feels like they are adding more action to this season. Dexter has been in two or three fights so far, which has been great.

I absolutely loved this last episode. The cat-and-mouse game between Dexter and Zoe was thoroughly enjoyable. I loved the scene in the gas station bathroom where he talks Zoe out of killing him by explaining that the blood spatter patterns wouldn't back up her story and would show that she shot him in a defensive position.

My favorite line from the episode:

Zoe: You're gonna rape and kill me?
Dexter: What is it with you and rape?! No one's raping anyone! Killing, on the other hand.

Oh, and we went to a comic convention and got Julie Benz (Rita) to sign my Season 1 DVD box set a few years ago. Makes me happy looking at it.

Dr. Shades ~ Dexter is a Showtime television series about a serial killer who only goes after other serial killers.

Oh....My....God!!!!

This episode was brilliant! The only thing I'm upset about is that I want to see what is going to happen next.

There were two times tonight I wondered if Dexter was going to reveal "who he is".

I forgot to mention earlier that I LOVE, LOVE James Remar. I adored him as Richard in "Sex and the City", and he is brilliant as the Dexter's father in this.

My feeling is that Dexter will tell Deb the truth before he tells Rita.

I have no doubt that Dexter will finally get Trinity, but they are going to drag this thing out. John LIthgow makes a wicked adversary.

Dexter has an added motive to get him, which is what he did to his sister. But will his love for Deb possibly screw him up? It seems like the walls are closing in. His apartment sanctuary has been found.

I'm really curious as to how this is all going to play out. I really hope that Dexter can continue to "have it all". I can't help but love him.

I'm off to watch my other obsession..."Curb Your Enthusiasm". :)
