If the church didn't allow/authorize/give permission to Christensen to take photgraphs of the documents how do you think he got the photographs?

Maybe I'm missing something here but it seems to me that if the church didn't authorize Steve to take the photographs he was doing something very illegal.

Certainly you are not suggesting that... are you?

To be brief, I fully acknowledge an employee from the Church archives lent Christensen the papyrus. I do not acknowledge that Christensen was "commissioned" by the Church to take the photographs, nor that the research he was funding was under the direction, "commissioned" by the Church.

Well before I had all of the other issues with Mormonism and it's history, the Book of Abraham was the end all for me. The Book of Abraham proved to me that Smith was a conman, so why even bother trying to find any truth, meaning, or good in anything else that he created?

I became an exmormon mere seconds after I came to the realization that the Book of Abraham was nothing more than a fabrication of Joseph Smith. Everything, all research into Mormonism after that point was just fuel to my fire of being an anti Mormon.
